A post I agree with from you.

I'm sure he planned on Bray going undrafted.

But, yeah...Stanzi was far from impressive when I was there.

What Daniel is is an undrafted player who's attempted 9 passes in his NFL career.

That's why those guys are backup QBs. They've also been starters in this league and have experienced and seen way more than Daniel will probably ever dream of.

That's why you get those kind of guys. They become the ultimate game manager. You just ask them to win the games against the less powerful teams and trust them not to put the defense in tough positions. That's how Damon Huard had a winning record as a starting QB for the Chiefs. He was an atrocious starter just like Skelton and those guys, but if asked to just hold the fort for a bit, he was pretty solid.

Daniel has yet to prove he can even do that. All we have to go off of is... well, nothing. The words of two NFL coaches that say he's second in command if anything bad happens, a preseason, and 9 regular season passes.

For all we know the guy is as ****ing awful as Tyler Palko.

With David Carr and Derek Anderson, at least we would know what we're getting and could gameplan accordingly. A coach like Andy Reid would have no trouble guiding them through a handful of games because they've at least GOT something.

So, you're dismissing his four years studying and working under Drew Brees? His three years under Sean Payton?

No one gave him those jobs. He earned them.

This is completely illogical.

Tyler Palko wasn't Drew Brees understudy for four seasons. Tyler Palko didn't spend three full seasons with Sean Payton.

The "For all we know" is a bullshit hand. You don't know anything about him, so you're choosing to believe he's shit.

The fact of the matter is that one well-known QB guru, who not only helped to revive Kerry Collins' career and help him reach the Super Bowl, who helped groom Tony Romo, who helped Drew Brees become one of the all-time greats and a Super Bowl winner, kept Daniel on the roster for four seasons.

Now, another renown QB guru has chosen to work with him.

I think I'll hold my breath before unequivocally stating he's garbage.

Gannon was drafted to be a running back. He bounced from the Patriots, Vikings and Redskins before sitting out 1994 and signing with the Chiefs in 1995.

He couldn't beat out Steve Bono and couldn't beat out Elvis Grbac two years in a row.

He was in the league for 12 years before he was named the starter to begin a season.

I think he qualifies.

Hmmm?

Plunkett was horrible until he got to the Raiders. That's 8 years.

Rich Gannon didn't come into his own until he went to...the Raiders. 11 years.

And Steve Young was a Buc before he was a 9er. 2 years of suckage. I might give you this one.

I said a couple times at camp that I was very impressed with the kid and that he resembled Bo Jackson in many ways with the speed and power he hits the hole with.
That's funny, I could have sworn during the draft that when the Chief's picked him he was rather negative on their selection choice- maybe it was just with regard to who was available still and he thought there were "better" guys that would fill more immediate needs of the Chiefs??

For anyone interested and I brought this up around just after the draft but here's a pretty cool article talking about Davis and his potential upside- and by upside they seem to think ABSOLUTE GD BEAST!

Quote:
I thought this was interesting...saw it on the footballsfuture.com forum.

Speed Score is a metric NFL Scouts use to project how much power and speed a running back has and how well that running back will perform in the NFL.You should note that the Speed Score is not the end-all, be-all. For instance, the all-time leading rusher, Emmitt Smith had a Speed Score of around 96.5.
Why is it important?
It's built on the simple idea that, because smaller backs tend to run faster than larger backs, we should be more impressed by a 4.5-second 40-yard dash from a 220-pound back than the same clock reading from a 170-pound back.
How Scoring works:
Quote:
An average score for a running back is 100. A good score is 110 and a great score is 120.

Disclaimer:
This is not the end all be all of tape, this is simply another way to show how speed and weight benefit or harm prospects coming out. For the record, the only running back since 1999 to be drafted with a score under 98 and make a pro-bowl is Brian Westbrook...Alfred Morris, is close to him in terms of production, having a score of 92.

Knile Davis, Arkansas- 126.79

***Knile Davis is the highest score since 1999, but not best of all time, that is Bo Jackson and his score of 147.8.
