This is a game I expect us to lose. A road win in the NFL is hard. Pittsburgh is still one of the class teams in the AFC. It's something I'm not going to be too upset if they lose and will be really happy if we win.

After being walloped by a rival multiple times, you get a little shell-shocked and begin to expect the worst. It seems a little crazy to pick the Chiefs on the road against the Stoolers. Based on past history, it kind of violates common sense, in a way.

It will take time for fans to change their mindset about the Chiefs. We haven't beaten them in Three Rivers in 31 years, IIRC.

...but if we do and start the season 2-0 on the road?

Look the hell out, only a couple of AFC teams to worry about.

If that happens, they'll make a story out of the Steelers, but the Chiefs will be one of the major talking points of the league, and it's all because of Mahomes. Despite any successes we had with Smiff, no one ever TRULY believed we were that good. But with Mahomes, they know we absolutely could be.

As for other AFC teams, if we can go in and a beat a pissed-off Steelers team in their barn, I'm not worried about any other AFC team. They are the most complete team in the AFC.

This guy is fading away... this will be a game where the thought of “holy shit, I don’t know if I can keep up with these young franchise QB’s” finally filters through his meaty freaking meathead. This will be his epiphany game... Kind of like what Larry Bird thought when he met up with Chris Webber in that Dream Team practice in ‘92 where the college kids stomped their asses (although that scrimmage was allegedly purposely thrown).
