Here's some numbers for you: The offense scored on 8 of 11 drives. That's 72%. I don't know what the NFL average is, but based on things like O-DVOA, I'm willing to bet that's in the top 5. In fact, if you look at this link, you see that the Chiefs are ranked first in several offensive statistics, including drive success, yards per drive, etc.: https://www.footballoutsiders.com/st...estatsoff/2018 And during the game itself, the Chiefs offense was overwhelmingly more efficient and productive than the Titans in this game. Defensively, our defense only allowed four scoring drives out of 10 Titans possessions. Out of the six remaining Titans drives, the defense forced four punts, forced a fumble, and a turn-over on downs. A fumble return for a TD and a botched snap cost the Chiefs this game. Not a lack of talent or coaching. In other words, it was just bad luck. Or if you prefer, just a curious accumulation of circumstances. The odds of the same thing happening if the game were played over 50 or 100 times are extremely small. |

THAT being said, I hope what PM "learned" today is that he's going to have to protect the team from Andy to the largest extent possible by going off script when the script is stupid. IOW, he has the power of the audible and he needs to start using it, and not be concerned with what Andy thinks. He's the MVP, Andy can't bench him, so PM is fireproof here.

I emotionally detached myself in the off-season because I knew Reid and Veach didn’t do enough for our defense. Why would Pete Carroll let Clark go if he was all that? He knew what he was getting rid of in Clark. Tyrann isn’t going to fix our whole secondary either. This season is the same song but just the second verse. Not surprised in the least that we are six and four. Lucky for us our division is very weak. We will make the playoffs but how far we go really depends on our defense and not Mahomes. Because no matter how many points we score teams are now beginning to outscore us on the ground in time possession.

Oh, shit. I forgot. That was reeruned. Mahomes did the smart thing going down rather than turfing it, but that was a bad call.
I think what followed was probably a much bigger problem though. Yanno, I'd like to think our FG game can snap/hold the ****ing ball. |

I'm in. This team will get healthy over the next few weeks and will gain mass and speed like a snowball rolling downhill.

I’m watching because Mahomes is awesome. I have zero faith in this coach or this team, as a whole. None. Therefore I wasn’t nearly as upset after this loss as I was against Houston or Indy. I believed back then. I don’t believe this team can win three games in a row in the playoffs with this coach or this defense.
Today was a regression.
