after watching the Packers dismantle Seattle, I felt they were the hottest team going in, so it is no huge surprise the way the Giants played in the SB imo.

I think it goes both ways... on one hand, the Giants probably did get more breaks, but OTOH the Patriots didn't capitalize, either. They had the chance after the 12 men on the field, and the INT in the 2nd quarter. All season the Patriots made teams pay for things like that, and didn't make the Giants pay last night.
FWIW, I don't think the 'recovery with Eli's legs' was a fumble. I think he bobbled, gained possession, and was down before he lost it... jmho. |

Yeah....whatever.. the Giants went on the road and won their way through the playoffs. Beat the best offense of all time with strong D-Line play.
The "experts" were wrong.... Defense wins championships.

I agree, Mr. RedNeckRaider. The Giants were very, very lucky on the in-the-grasp-no-call-desperation-heave-miracle-catch-with-the-helment play. I don't imagine they spend a lot of time practicing that one. Nevertheless, they earned the win with their defense and enough offense when it counted.
