Laptop to a TV via HDMI
Just plugged the HDMI cable into my laptop for my HDTV. I get video but no sound? I though both video and sound would go through HDMI in this scenario. Am I missing something here.

I know this worked on my last laptop.

sound comes out of th elaptop. i tried this about a month ago. I never messed with it after that.

check your sound settings to make sure that the sound is set to travel via HDMI as opposed to the soundcard through speakers

HDMI carries both video and sound

windows 7 is really good about plug and play video out like that

check to make sure it's plugged in securely
check windows settings for audio
is wire bad?
