Yeah, but again, fourth rounders are just a wildcard.

It’s too easy. Hell didn’t Mahomes win a Kia or something his first year starting at the pro bowl? Throw that in too!

So it sounds to me like you're describing a guy who would fit the playstyle of our QB perfectly.
That is not the same thing. The complaint about obj hasn’t been running out of structure. It’s “miscommunication.” That means going out of structure in an offense that tells you where you need to be (stefanski). It also includes being on a consistently different page than Eli manning who unlike baker knows where his receivers should be. Apart from a playoff run it also means being on a completely different page on several instances from stafford, another vet.

Kelce and brown may freelance but they do it within the structure of an offense. It’s not nearly the same thing.

We’ve seen the frustration on mahomes’ face with hardman, Demarcus, Mvs to know he expects you to be in the right spots. We know how much Reid cares about offensive structure. Maybe it works out with a more mobile qb and with maturity that comes with age. But it seems to me Andy wants this offense to play way more structured than we used to and this sometimes to go against that grain.

I don't really remember hearing about him being on a totally different page from Eli or Stafford, it could be that all the "Baker sucks" stuff has clouded my memory. (because Baker does ****ing suck).

Baker mayfield represents a small part of this.

It’s also stefanskis offense which other WRs have not struggled to execute.
It’s also Eli manning, who is plenty capable as a QBs

He’s had a long career and a short time with baker mayfield. How could baker possibly be the scapegoat for all the issues that have followed him throughout his career.

I don’t like the guy. I’m not unrealistic about knowing he could help us. But I’m not going to make excuses for his past to do that. These excuses feel like the same thing that had the cameraman look like the total villain for davante Adams shoving him. Baker mayfield sucking does not absolve obj for accountability for his issues.

Good thing we have the best QB on the planet and not a old about to be retired and a terrible QB with a terrible attitude and football IQ then. And guess what, even if he did say something out of line, he would be on a 1 year deal, you can just cut him.

On the flipside, he could be the playmaker that helps your team get to the Superbowl and amazing locker room guy like he was with the Rams and for what it's worth, with the Browns. I bet we'd have another Superbowl win if he would have joined the chiefs last season, don't you?

Where do you see that he was consistently on a different page than Eli?

I obviously recognize he can help us. And even last year I acknowledged that on a short term deal maybe he can’t cause too many problems. I’d much prefer an option like dj Moore but I’d be fine with obj. I just take the red flags with a grain of salt. But in either event I’m a little skeptical that Reid would even give either guy as active of a role as we’d like.

I'd have agreed with you before he wrecked arguably the most consistent receiver in football the last 3 years.

At some point it's okay to reconsider your position.

I didn’t say baker is blameless. That was not even close to my point. We are talking about 1.5 years of his entire career. You can’t blame baker mayfield for similar issues that plagued him with Tom coughlin and Eli manning. The only saving grace he has is a half season of good behavior. It’s not his time with baker that’s the red flag, it’s the pattern of behavior.
