I'm guessing there's a protocol that says to park at an angle along the side of the vehicle that's already fled once instead of in front of it to box it in?

So I immediately wanted to come in here and be all like wtf to the Mom and the kid and the cop that shot his gun, but at least as far as the cop is concerned, I noticed the baton cop got scared by something right before the other cop started shooting. He fleed from the vehicle really quickly, so it's not outside the realm of possibility that a gun, a toy gun, or a gun looking object was pointed at him from inside the vehicle.

Besides, the guy that fired into the vehicle wouldn't have been at an angle to see that anyway. That cop completely lost his cool. I'd be pretty comfortable with any of the rest of them in a foxhole with me; they were pretty levelheaded all things considered. That last guy, OTOH, is not the kind of personality I'd want to work in a high-stress situation with. Remember - the difference between the great and the dead are often the ability to take that one extra breath and assess when all hell is breaking lose around him. This guy clearly lacks that ability.

That dipshit kid is the biggest idiot of all of them. He's really goddamn lucky he didn't get shot. His involvement escalated that situation and is the reason batons starting going through windows. Buncha mouthbreathers on this board.

Look at that kid puffing his chest out and tossing his cap like he's getting into a bar fight. That kid's dumb as a hammer and if it wasn't this incident that put him in jail, he had one coming within the next few years. This wasn't some gentle lamb going to defend him mom, that kid was looking to rumble with a damn cop. If he doesn't get in the middle of it, his mom ends up with a simple obstruction charge and maybe the cop even lets he go; unlikely, but possible. Until he decided it was time to be billy badass. I repeat - he's extremely lucky he didn't get shot.

If I saw my mom getting man handled by the police I would be very tempted to step in and put a stop to it using aggression. Of course my mom isn't dumb enough to try and fight the cops over a speeding ticket. |

So you're advocating assaulting cops just because they're trying to make an arrest?

Oh no. Just saying trying to defend your mom makes sense for a young kid. Not the right thing to do here by any means, but at least somewhat understandable. Don't get me wrong, he made things worse, but he's just a kid.
