I love pale ales, so its a tossup 'tween BLVD Pale, Sierra Nevada Pale, and although technically not a Pale, Sammy Smith's Winter Welcome.
edit: I almost forgot Fat Tire!! MMMMMMMMM

I guess my favorite at the moment is New Belgium 1554. At Christmas time, it's St. Arnolds Christmas Brew. In reality, I enjoy almost every beer darker than an amber ale. Incidentally, that also includes wheats and Pales. I'm not terribly fond of Guiness by itself, but I'll drink the hell out of some Black & Tans. I don't hate it, but it isn't my first choice. I've been kinda missing my old standby Shiner Bock since moving to KC. I took that beer for granted in Texas.

What I was trying to say was that EVERY establishment has Shiner in Texas. Everybody. So, if they don't have anything other than domestic pisswater, I always bought Shiner. Shiner is a good beer and 20x better than anything out of St. Louis, Milwaukee, or Golden, but it still isn't in my top 25 choices. |
