Very underrated game tonight against a senior laden Tulsa team. I know Marshall wont let us take them lightly. BTW I love this freshmen class, Landry Shamet is going to end up being the new "Ron Baker" and Markis McDuffie is gonna be a stud. The group that said WSU will be mediocre when Baker and Van Vleet leave are going to be very disappointed.

A versatile scorer and post defender who becomes the latest in a long line of talented junior college forwards to join the Shocker program… Averaged 13.8 points and 7.1 rebounds as a freshman to help lead Pearl River to a 25-5 finish and the MACJC state title…An All-Region 23 and All-MCJC South Division selection… Was efficient scorer for the Wildcats from both the field (.626) and at the foul line (.755), where he knocked down a team-high 111 free throws… Enjoyed a breakout season as a high school senior at Madison Memorial, where he was a Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Division I All-State selection and conference player of the year in 2014… Was a fourth-team All-State (all classes) selection by the Wisconsin Associated Press… Averaged 17.3 points and led Memorial High to a conference title.

Scored in double-figures 11 times and had a season-best of 9 assists… Earned NJCAA Region 8 Player of the Week honors on Dec. 16, 2014… As a senior at Ribault High School in Jacksonville, helped his team to a 4A State Semifinal appearance…

Dec 12th to be exact against Utah. I heard pretty good things about him in practice, so we will see.

Well that was a rough one. Tip of the hat to Tulsa. Go home, regroup and pound Emporia St. Anyone freaking out about poll ranking this early in the season needs to take a breath. Lots of games left. GO SHOX!

As a Golden Hurricane fan we played our "A" game and you all didn't hit threes at the percentage I expected. That said we should be a top 25 team this year. I've really enjoyed this rivalry over the years and hope we continue to play with the intensity we did tonight for the rest of the year. If we do the loss shouldn't hurt you guys too much, after all you've been one of the elite teams in cbb over the last few years.
