Yeah and look at that last column, ranks of the opposition offense. Chiefs #2, NE dead last. DVOA increases the weighting on opposition as season goes along. Looking forward to seeing our D against some weaker offenses.

The Chiefs look more and more every week like the best team in the AFC. Unfortunately, due to our schedule (and the Patriots' joke schedule), we may have a bit of a tougher road in the playoffs than most. Maybe we can go on a bit of a run here and get at least the bye, though.

Agree, Jackson is such a PITA to defend and can get streaky good. But Mahomes and company a much greater PITA. Aside from them and the Texans don't see any of the other teams being competitive if we are healthy. Not worried about home field.

I believe I've read that the Chiefs have played a top 5 schedule by DVOA rankings, so I think alot of the overwrought cries of doom and despair on here are overstated, especially given the injuries that you've had.

I'm still betting on a Pats/Chiefs AFCCG.

The defense wasn't great, but it wasn't what killed the Chiefs.

Horrific STs play did. From bad punts to stupid returns to the incredibly obvious gack jobs on the FG attempts, the defense was...okay. Especially when you account for the Titans defensive score.

I mean, I wouldn't say it was anything approaching good, but it wasn't a complete abortion either.

It was just an overall team carriage combined with the culmination of weeks of slippage on STs that finally bombed a game for us.

Toub's got some 'splaining to do for that one, IMO.

Yeah the idiotic 80s era talking heads all talking about how the chiefs will never win in the playoffs with their defense, even though they had three good games followed by one mediocre one. Cause you know defense and the running game wins championships in the 80s and 90s.
