Disappointed in McCluster

Bla bla bla, he's a playmaker, he has two touchdowns already, whatever.

He has seven catches for 93 yards. 1/3 of that yardage came on one play. At least two of those are screen passes I believe.

That ****ing sucks.

This guy needs to be a threat as a WIDE RECEIVER. He hasnt made a single play down the field. I'm not even talking 20 yards. How about 10? How about coming off the line, putting your foot in the ground, getting open and giving Cassel a target?

I'm not willing to accept the idea that Cassel is so god awful he makes all our wide receivers look terrible.

McCluster hasn't done shit yet. And he was utter garbage in Indy.

Don't buy any of his ****ing t-shirts.

Are you game Clayton? I'm taking the gamble not you, not knowing how the draft will turn out. We just may draft a stud RB that competes well against him, that I don't know.

So do you want to take the bet?

You want to suck McCluster's cock, we get it.

They need to put him back at Wide Receiver. He did practically nothing last season when Haley tried him out as a utility running back. A running back needs power and moves, not just speed.

McCluster really came alive at the end of the season. It showed big time what he can do when we have a QB that can actually stretch the defense a bit. That opened up a lot of the underneath stuff which is where I think McCluster can really live in out of the slot.

The big problem is... now what? You've got 3 WRs in Bowe, Baldwin, and Breaston. You've got Jamaal Charles and you would want to bring in a thumper to take carries away from him. And as an 11th, you'd want an extra TE or a FB like McClain. Where is McCluster going to actually see snaps, other than being a 3rd down back who can shift to the slot? Unless you decide to get rid of Bowe and shift Breaston to the #2 receiver, but is Breaston capable of handling that as well as he does the slot?

I always felt KC should utilize him similar to how Saunders utilized Hall.

Hall didn't put up big numbers, but he was a constant distraction and decoy that went a long way toward opening up our offense. Teams paid attention to him, and usually they paid TOO MUCH attention to him.

McCluster seems to draw a lot of attention, and I'm not sure we take advantage of that.

Yeah, I agree, but he also didn't have Breaston. The problem is that if you want him as a receiver, you have to take either Breaston or Jamaal Charles out, unless you line him up in a 2 RB set (in which case, you would have 4 WRs). There's some good matchup situations you can put him in. But given our level of talent, he's starting to become the gimmick player we tagged him to be.

What roster spot he holds down doesn't mean much to me.

It's just this: Remember the fake end around? Back when Saunders ran the offense Hall would get one end around or maybe 2 per game. Just a couple carries. We would fake the ball to him 10+ times a game and we had all kinds of plays built behind that fake. We had deep passes, screen passes, sometimes we'd even fake to Hall and hand the ball to holmes. The plays that came on the fakes were usually very successful.

When Solari came on board he never handed the ball to Hall on the end around, and teams stopped respecting it. He STILL did the fakes though, but since teams figured out we never actually gave it to hall, it stopped working and combined with his declining ability his value disappeared.

He just attracts attention. He's a good decoy.

With Cassel at quarterback, a player like DMC is fairly worthless.

With a guy like Orton even, he can be a threat teams have to prepare fir similarly to how teams have to prepare for Sproles.

Here is what kills DMC with Cassel at qb.

Opposing teams don't gameplan to take away the deep ball, or even the intermediate throws...they know Cassel doesn't have the mentality, vision or physical ability to be a threat in those respects.

They actually gameplan for the dump off passes to DMC.

Ive NEVER seen a guy get hit by multiple defenders as soon as he catches a dump off pass as much as DMC with Cassel.

Stop the run...bracket Bowe and focus on DMC.....that's all teams have to do to beat our offense. It's no secret that Cassel doesn't even look at the other guys.

The fact that I can see this and Pioli seems to continue to like the guy as his starting qb is depressing.

Sproles runs with more power and actually has more than one move that can make taclkers miss.

McSuckster goes down if he's blown on by a defender and has one move, a spin move, that never leads to a miss.

he's a worthless piece of shit, and a waste of not only a second round pick, but a waste of any pick.
