I don't hate that idea. I also liked the idea of making it only viewable to those logged in.

And therein lies the issue with the DC.

Everyone who doesn't believe what I believe is an extremist.

If you can pick through the BS of DC there's points made. Me and Detoxing actually came to a (somewhat) agreement on border crossings.

I've always been a fan of not breaking up fights only because there's a best case scenerio of two people passionate enough about a certain topic will do the world a favor and cancel each other or figure out what the other side is thinking and going through.

The latter outcome is definitely the smaller but hey, either is OK by me.

This makes a lot of sense for those who think it's some kind of embarrassment. Might be some additional safety for the site as well as it's less likely to draw attention of activists, nutjobs, etc.

And there is the truth of the matter. Hollywood does push agendas in their movies/television, sports figures are using game time to push their agendas and certain small groups are using sports franchises to push their agendas (team names). But somehow, it’s the DC sub forum that is causing bleed over into the other forums… Yeah, ok.

All the time. Well, for me, anyway.

I keep up casually with college football. Watch maybe 10 or so college games a year.

My initial read on a player is often one that is out of context and an outlier game for that particular player. It’s the draft talk season when I quite often read things from dudes on here or get told to check out a certain player, and I’ll totally say to myself, “Ok. I definitely misjudged a guy.”

Charging for DC access and posting privilege is an interesting idea. And it would keep out the riffraff.

And that's really what it comes down to... sacrificing the trolls and the most vile posters for a little sanity and civility.

And you're right, the Lounge at times isn't THAT much different, especially as topics get run into the ground... but we at least try to manage that with the same ideas in mind (a little sanity and civility).

Brock stated it perfectly... DC is an exact image of the political climate. And the really sad thing is politicians probably prefer the divisiveness, because if we all clued in on how we should be revolting against all of them, they wouldn't have a guaranteed 50% of the vote every 4 years.

Status quo at all costs is very profitable for them.
For someone who supposedly is repulsed by the DC Forum you certainly spend a lot of time talking about it.

Obsessed much?
