But you have to understand something here? This isn't a situation where they could give the fans and media closure. What could they really say? I don't even think they know. Its a wait and see approach.

I'm not calling you a miserable SOB. Not yet, anyways.

All I'm trying to say is, "I get it." And if I didn't, I wouldn't say it. I just decided that Chiefs-centric disappointment and anger and frustration and all that were preventing me from enjoying fully the good things in life. And, as far as I'm concerned, good things are way too rare for many of us.

Our QB misses a throw? Expletives! Chiefs lose a game? Depression! That's a world I no longer have an interest in living in ... for myself (and I'm not telling anybody else how to live ... or be.)

Nowadays, I see us as uniquely fortunate. Mahomes is a generational talent and he's paired with the perfect coach to help him develop and maximize his potential. Other teams are jealous as hell. And they should be. What we're witnessing is rare. And like Shakespeare said, "Rare is rare."

As of now, I see the shortcomings and setbacks as learning experiences for the team. That's how I look at it.

On the other hand, I've had a morbid, terrifying, sepulchral fear of unicorns my whole life.

I' would have had no problem grinding out a drive to push it to OT, or going for two for the win.

I was totally there at the start of the season. Even last season, I was having fun and just enjoying it.

But then the first 4 weeks happened, the game at Denver, the thought of a trade for ET. I let my expectations outpace my appetite for disappointment.

Signing is contingent on him taking a bristol type 6 shit on Gruden's desk, and DJ is constipated. I'll contact him and offer to send him an rx for a SMOG enema.

Again, sorry for being such a downer. It wasn't that they lost, it was the totally deflating way in which they lost. Flashbacks to 2003 and 2013, it's like experiencing it all over again.
The loss at NE for me was the only loss that absolutely did not deflate me whatsoever BUT rather significantly encouraged me which has never happened with any other Chief loss being a fan since the late 60's.

Why? All the experts were saying during the first half and at halftime that the stage in Foxboro was too big for PM2 but I didn't see it that way at all. When the stage is too big that means 'fear' rules. Did PM2 every show any fear ? NO !!

What I saw was a kid who was disecting the Pats defense but with too much adrenaline(missing the easy TD passes) and was getting the best of him and he just needed to dial the adrenaline back and that is exactly what he did in the 2nd half.

For me I saw a very talented kid grow into a man at QB in the 2nd half. And that 2nd half performance was a warning shot across the bow not just to the Pats but to the rest of the league as to what is coming !!

This is why I am very very encouraged for the future of our Chiefs !!
