If you were the Chiefs DC what changes would you make?

Activate Pennel, Sit Clark, bump Jones out to D-end. Ridgers and Tannehill had some success running the ball so I would spy the QB.

Discuss.....

I guess the answer = Mahomes. He gives you a shot no matter what. Just have to cut down the critical mistakes.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one. Clark gets manhandled & pushed out of position all the time. Clark says he has been playing in a lot of pain with a pinched nerve in his neck. So it's hard to be too critical if that is true. I thought the defense looked better the last two weeks without him. They stopped Cook while keeping the Packers to less points than the Titans. I just hope they can figure something out on run defense. It's degrading.

Don't take my word for it; just go and re-watch those games I listed. Each of those teams runs a very similar play to the one today, away from Clark and he recognizes it and make the tackle or simply puts himself in the position to force the RB back inside and someone else makes the tackle. Usually the latter.

Clark hasn't been great this season so far, and he has been man-handled several times, but if he's unblocked and the RB tries to cut back, he's always been in position to make the play or force the RB back inside.

Just watch the games and verify it for yourself.

Even if you're right on a few select plays: his overall game has hurt the Chiefs. Run defense appeared much stouter w/o him.

Frank Clark trade could be an all time bad move in franchise history.

It may keep us from 3 super bowl runs

Meh, he gets healthy, it will be fine. The new CBA + increased cap space will make his contract a non-issue.

If rest will help him get healthy, he needs to sit out. There comes a point where, because of injury, you're hurting your team more than helping by staying on the field.

Clark may be at that point.

Of course, with Ogbah out for the season and Okafor missing time, we're running out of bodies...

I'd love it if we could draft Isaiah Simmons from Clemson. I'd have thought he'd go too early for where we will pick, but hell, now....

he'll probably "Matt Cassel" at DE for a couple of years at least, unable to be benched because they don't want $100 mill and a first round pick to sit.

But ya, he sucks and the sack he got today was because of Chris Jones.

It's definitely up there.

It makes me want to puke when I think about how much better we could possibly be right now if we didn't get Clark. Maybe we would have used that 1st round pick on someone good that can actually help us instead and maybe we could have used that money on someone else that could have helped us.

That move is definitely gonna set us back a couple of years.

1) Activate Pennel.
2) Chris Jones at DE
3) When you play a running team, especially one that is lacking talent at QB and WR like the titans then I run blitz the hell out of them like they did Denver. I honestly thought they turned the corner over the past 3 weeks but I guess not.
4) I think they have 2 FS's on this team in Thornhill and Honeybadger. They need an old school thumper at SS to help out against this team and the Ravens.
5) How much did Ragland play? He was a stud the last few weeks but I saw an undersized Neiman out there more.

After much contemplation I've come to the conclusion these guys just aren't fueling right. If you want to win, you gotta fuel like a winner.

Move Jones outside on 1st and 2nd down, rotate him inside on 3rd and long.

Sign Zach Brown ILB to help stop the run on 1st and 2nd down (this is our biggest weakness on defense)

Pennel needs to be active every game and be apart of the DT rotation

Thornhill needs reps, so keep him on the field over dirty Dan and work with him on his tackling.

I play Ragland more at LB, he is raw and will develop with first team reps

A few select plays. Now who’s cherry-picking?

And appearances and reality are often not the same thing.

I notated every chiefs defensive snap of the first 3 games. Every play Clark was on the field. How many run plays in his direction. Every pass play in his direction. The results of every play. Etc. and so on. Those results are directly in contradiction to your “appearances .”

However I haven’t had a chance to review this game, but I doubt it’ll be very different.

Maybe you and others should review the game yourselves and really see what’s happening in each play before relying on appearances.

Did anybody ever say why Pennell was inactive? I'd sure like to know the logic on that one. The Vikings game should have been enough proof that the defense was playing with some nastiness with Pennell in there. Then they ****ing deactivate him for Ivie???!!!!

Who made that call?
