Phobia thinks there should be a Planet Tailgate at games

Copy and pasted from another thread:

B5 isn't the ChiefsPlanet official tailgate. We don't have one. B5 is a meeting point for Planeteers, but it actually belongs to a group of people who have been tailgating together for many years - only one of whom is a Planeteer. This is why there is no ChiefsPlanet flag nor any other identifying characteristics. We *really* need to find and identify an OFFICIAL ChiefsPlanet rallying point.

The following is not so much a bitch about as it is a compliment to another group of Chiefs fans:

This weekend, I was invited to participate in another internet organization's charity events, attend their tailgate, and sit in their section at the game. ChiefsPlanet has 10x as many registered users and has been around 4x as long - yet, their participation level was quadruple anything I've ever seen with ChiefsPlanet. That is probably attributed to their leadership, because I was shocked at how organized and well done their events were.

We need to find somebody who is willing to take the tailgating ball and run with it. Hell, we could eventually even buy a ChiefsPlanet tailgating bus or something cool like that.... We have the numbers, now we just need to find the people to make it happen.
I said:

I like the planet tailgating idea. Sounds like people have a hard time finding B5. I would suggest down by where the pope/ hearst guy is by the entrace to Arrowhead in first few rows by the aisle in the "D" parking lot. It's easy to find. People can stop by on their way into the stadium.

So whats your opinion?

Bob Dole definitely thinks it's a cool idea, but doesn't feel he's in a position to push things one way or another, since Bob Dole's involvement totals only 1-2 games per year.

I agree. This would have to be a KC area-CP member organized thing...not to pass the buck, but realistically speaking.

Waste of time. Most planet members don't show up.

Where is your optimism that you have about the team!

I'm gonna be there this week, and each of the four of five other games I make it to!

what does this have to do with the team, Rhonda?

I guarantee that there are at least 10 planet members who go the games and never stop by. not a big deal, just the facts.

I go to the games, but being from Wichita we typically drive up that morning - and I'm doing good to get there by kickoff. Otherwise, I'd stop by.

Rhonda? RHONDA! Sheeesh. Least you could do is stick with Anton...

You are probably right; but if people KNEW where it was, KNEW people would be there, and it became a REGULAR event....I think that could change....

Of course, I could be wrong.

I stop by every time I go. I don't ever remember it, but I'm there...

We'd need a firm commitment. I'd be their every game, about 2 hours before kickoff.

In a few years, when the older fellas in my group drop out, i'll be there earlier.

I think its a great idea.

But someone has to make a real commitment.

You have to have something at every home game, in the same spot, and people have to turn out.

I would love to do this if I was in the KC or event the Des Moines area, but I'm not, and it doesn't even look like I'll make it to a game this year, which sucks.

I'm a season ticket holder and make it to almost every game. I have a wife and son so sometimes I'm getting there just in time for the game. But I could always stop by and say hay and hang for awhile.

I had a blast last year at B5 but the planet needs their own site. I hate crashing a party.

I think if the Planet had a site, more people would show up, its different than going to Dartgods Rig. The other thing that is needed is you need a sign in area, so when someone gets there they can sign in and be greeted by someone, then make an effort tomake them feel comfortable, they need nametags, and not with "Craig" on it, but one that has their username and real name.

just some of my thoughts

I had this happen at the Chiefs Coalition tailgate this Sunday. They announced that Big Red Chief had arrived and every body let out a yell and welcomed me. I'm not that special even though my mommy told me so....It was just their way of trying to make people feel comfortable.
