Well, I was looking for some analysis on trends in my previous post.
A few weeks ago I posted some stats about the Bills pass D being so good, but a few responded that it was just a mirage because teams run so well against them. A huge part of the Bills' success in shutting down our O was running through Jordan "the Matador" Black and pounding Green, so we couldn't get our pass O going to compliment Johnson's great performance. The Cowboys last two losses were against teams (Donks & Giants) that primarily ran against them. I see us doing the same, but with Roaf and Welborn back, we should be able to generate some vertical O for a balanced attack. From a D perspective, the Donks picked off Bledsoe twice, sacked him once, and forced no fumbles. The Giants picked off Bledsoe twice, sacked him 4 times, and forced 2 fumbles. Our GUFs must hound Bledsoe mercilessly and force him into hurried throws. Sims has to push the pocket right back into Bledsoe's face, and Allen has to make it a personal mission to physically abuse Bledsoe. Gotta get turnovers.

I think it's accepted that they'll throw a lot, but they need to set up the run in order to do that effectively. With our run defense being as good as it is, I don't see that happening. I certainly don't see their defense stopping us very well at all. They'll best friend will be their home field advantage, and I don't see that as enough. It won't be a blowout, but I'm confident it will be a win.

We match up very well with the cowboys.
Yeah, they're 15 in rushing offense, but they only average 3.3 a carry and we do a good job stopping the run. We have a VERY good chance to make them one-dimensional, and they are playing a backup LT. That's going to play into Jared Allen's hands. I think we can do better than some might expect us to do on D. As for offense, we run very well and they give up 4.2 yards per carry. We should be able to get a solid ground game going that will open up the play action passes. I think it adds up to a win for us, even on their home field. |

I think the Chiefs can run the ball on Dallas. Johnson can put up 150 if the offense keeps drives moving. I don't see the Chiefs putting up big passing numbers vs a pretty good secondary.
The key will be to not make mistakes...fumbles and INTs on the road, as we all know are bad. Dallas has some issues with its OTs, and while they have a decent running game, I don't see Orange Julius as the threat posed by Dungver's committee, LdTomlinson et al. I think the Defense will contain the Dallas Running game, put some hits on an imobile Bledsoe, run the ball effectively, pass enough to keep them honest, and come back from Big D with a Big W. |

LJ may have made the #2 running defense look like toddlers last sunday, but it's important to not get cocky. Dallas has a good D.
This will be a good game. I predict a close one and possibly game of the week. |

Dat Ngyuen
Before he went down the Dallas D was quite formidable. Since he has went down and out for the year they have began to fall from the upper levels in run defense. I see LJ making it six in a row over 100. You know Dallas will have eight in the box and that will enhance the play action pass. They will have to be playing man-to-man all over the defensive backfield or going zone to stop the run. Gonzo will have a bust out game in this kind of coverage (now that Trent is getting time again with the healthy tackles).
We are gonna smack them in the mouth and take names. A good solid win 27-14. |

On O - Dallas has two CBs nicked up -- Henry & Glenn - Both may play but the Chiefs need to look for Roy Williams. If he's in the box throw. If he's deep here comes LJ.
On D - Dallas is well coached. They know Bledsoe can't handle pressure. Lately, they've been running a lot of max protection - half field read - get rid of the ball quick stuff. They'll be ready for our Blitzes. Hopefully we can get to Bledsoe with Allen straight up. Hey if Grob can confuse the hell of Bledsoe with his schemes I think Gun can really do something. This is just one game where we can't blitz too much. I've the got the Chiefs taking it 27-20 |
