Chiefs Run Defense SUCKS - Page 4

All other bullshit aside, we only ran 51 plays to their 71.

We had the ball less than 10 minutes in the 2nd half.

IF we even make it to the playoffs with this horrid run D, we don't make it out of wildcard weekend if they don't do something drastic.

Oh, Spagnuolo was so awful and one dimensional, it made me want Sutton back. Where were his "adjustments"?

There are all sorts of coverage schemes.

Not being able to stop a straight forward power rushing attack is not scheme.

It's physicality; it's WANT TO.

Well, to be fair, I think our guys "want to", but they just can't, they're too weak. Not unlike our O-line suffering the same problem as it pertains to blocking opposing team's players who actually have a gym membership AND GO TO THE GYM.

so, ive been thinking about this all day at work. I watch almost every other teams defense attack the line of scrimmage during run plays and when i watch the chiefs it almost seems like they sit back and wait instead of trying to blow up the blocks. New DC and we still do the same shit as we used to. Even when we take care of the blocking we still cant bring the ball carrier down he just waits and then finds the opening because our linebackers dont attack its absolutely insane

I'm not trying to make excuses but those injuries hurt pretty bad, Saunders hasn't been trusted with a single snap when there were healthy guys in front of him.

Hopefully he grows quickly into a role

This article describes the problems this team has been having against the run about as well as anything I've read this year:

In a nutshell, our interior DLs aren't getting any penetration, Okafor is getting beat consistently by TEs (Ogbah has been more productive so far), and our LBs are disagreeing on the field about their gap assignments. Bottom line, it's the middle of the DL that is giving up the vast majority of the yards on the ground. That's Jones, Nnadi, Xavier Williams, etc. not getting penetration, and/or not playing their gaps correctly.

Runs to Clark's side when he's on the field are averaging 3 yds or less.
