Basically the cue and 9 were frozen, the 9's natural angle would take it into the side rail at about the 2nd diamond. He looked it over, walked around the table, chalked up, pointed with his cue at the side pocket across from him, got down and stroked across the cue, sending it 3 rails while the cue went in the opposite direction 3 rails. They collided back in the middle of the table, and the nine caromed into the side pocket. Most insane billiards shot for money I've ever seen.

And the fact that he worked it out and committed to the shot in less than 30 seconds is utterly amazing.
It was late mid to late 90s at Raytown Rec. He was playing 3 cushion for big cash with someone and I can't for the life of me remember who. Heck, it may have been Keith McCready or Danny Harriman, it's funny to think of all the ballers from back in that era of pool in KC. My memory isn't so great for the stories back then. Once they finished up, he went over to Big Bertha and kept playing and playing and playing with other folks.

An interesting story, Keith McCready hung out a lot at Rack's in Lee's Summit in the early to mid 2000s. That dude was a trip. He played Grady in The Color of Money, for the people that don't know. He had juuuuuuuust a little bit of a drug problem. He could still play but, man, was he completely whacked out.

I got you. I have a hard time remembering stuff from way back when too. I can't even remember the name of the guy he played for that $50,000 but I knew his name back then. Can't remember the name of the off-strip joint we were in either. It's on the tip of my tongue, but . . . He was a kind of famous pool player back then. Not top 10 elite, but if you read about pool back then you'd seen his name and picture every once in a while.

Most fun match to watch was Dave Matlock and Buddy Hall at Shooters in Olathe. Probably 1995 or 1996. I've never seen any players drink as much as those dudes cumulatively drank and still look absolutely in control. We watched for probably two hours and it was great. They were playing 8 ball on bar boxes for like $1000 a set. Cash on the table, that stuff is so fun to watch.

Feel like this question has too much common sense involved to actually be "tricky." Short of being brain dead the answer should be in your head before you even start thinking about it.

At least with the bat and ball question that was posted earlier you had to think about it for even a split second before you realized its just a long winded way of asking whats 10 divided by 2.
