NFL is Rigged: Week 18 edition

The CP consensus is that the NFL is rigged. Welp, as such, I think it’d be great to discuss this week’s script.

The NFL is rigged, so this should be easy. As easy as predicting a WWE In-Ring interview being rudely interrupted by a rival with a steel chair.

Call your shot, what kind of week 18 shenanigans is the NFL up to?

Las Vegas vs L.A: Which new stadium does the NFL prefer? TWO teams in L.A make the playoffs?

Will the NFL write in a tie game sending BOTH to the playoffs?

Will they sneak the Steelers in for one last hoorah for Ruthlessraper?

Or will they write in Lamar Jackson because he generates ratings?

Will they give the most prestigious player (Mahomes) the #1 seed, or do they want to see the Chiefs in the WC round for extra ratings?

So, the NFL is rigging the top 4-6 teams in the league to make it to the championship games and SB, it's just not clear yet which of the best teams will be there.

It's almost like they could just play the games and make that happen, like it happens every other year.

This it what will happen in the NFC:

1. In the wildcard round, the only game that really matters competitively is the Rams / Cardinals. Every other game will go down as follows: Bucs will get every important call to win against the Eagles (the NFL want's Tom to host the next game). The Cowboys will get every important call to win against the 49ers (the league wants the Cowboys to play at the Bucs next week.

2. In the divisional round, the league knows the Packers will win against the two indoor teams (Cardinals / Rams), so in their eyes the matchup they want is either the Bucs or Cowboys at the Packers. The Packers will get every important call, but for the Bucs and and Cowboys, that will be the "competitive game"...they will officiate that game fair and square (similar to what they will do with the Rams / Cardinals in the wild card round).

3. The NFC title game will be Bucs / Cowboys against the Packers and it will be a competitive round (fair officiating given how they fixed the seeding). The league will not care who wins at this point.

This is what will happen in the AFC:

1. Buffalo / NE is the only competitive game (fair officiating) game in the wild card round. The Chiefs will get all the calls and so will the Bengals...I mean they allowed the Bengals to get a bye week last week with the way they setup the week 18 schedule (they did that for a reason)...the league has already done everything to get the Bengals to progress and they will continue.

2. In the divisional round, the competitive game will be Chiefs / Buffalo, while the Bengals again will get every single call against the Titans. The league will want the Bengals in the AFC title game against the Chiefs / Buffalo matchup.

3. The AFC title game will be fairly officiated between the Chiefs/Bills vs Bengals and the winner of the Chiefs / Bills will dominate that game since it is finally fairly officiated.

The league will see the Chiefs / Bill versus the Packers more than likely...should be the Chiefs.
well done. you chose the 2/3 seed vs. the 1 seed for the sb. man, that is risky. everyone will suspect the fix is in if that happens.

I don't think the thread is short on answers from either side, unfortunately they all appear to be in the personal beliefs and opinions spectrum. Neither side has documentation to show that the NFL is neither rigged nor 100% untainted by influencing outcomes of contests.

Again, it's all good, we all love our Chiefs...

I refer you to my previous post initially directed at Blackop.

Tangled feet? Only if you count hands/arms as feet. Receiver started to cut across from the DB, who wouldn't have been able to change directions fast enough, and the DB grabbed him.

Exactly, check out the DB stepping on the back of Jones' right foot.

Jesus Christ...the only reason they got tangled was because the ball was thrown 20 yards in the opposite direction he was moving.

Even Carr was laughing about it...enjoy your new stadium gift. This may be the only time you get to see Carr shit his pants in the post season...savor it.

Chris Simms calls that play the "most ridiculous PI call they saw all weekend"..at 9:50. Unfortunately for the Chargers, that flag ended up costing them the season...Chargers coaching staff took it from there.

If the NFL wanted the Raiders in the playoffs, why did they allow the Chargers to convert four 4th and 10's on their final drive in regulation?

It was a bad call, but hardly the call that gave the game to the Fade.

Answer your own questions...I'm not your mother.

I was merely pointing out how the officials steered the game for those conversions to occur.

You knew Clete was going to **** over one team....it's what he does.

He always seems to reside over wild games...Rams/Chiefs, Patriots/Jags AFCCG, Patriots/Chiefs AFCCG...Raiders/Chargers. Kind of a pattern...pattern of controversial, game altering calls.
