Reports say Mangini out as Jets' head coach

Eric Mangini is out as head coach of the New York Jets, 1050 ESPN Radio and various other New York media outlets are reporting.

Mangini and the Jets missed out on the playoffs after losing to Miami on Sunday. The Jets lost four of their last five games.

The Jets are scheduled for a 10 a.m. ET news conference. Mangini is not expected to attend.

How will the rumors of Marty coming into the organization slow down the possiblity of getting a Good GM?

Nada chance in hell of Pioli coming here if Marty is hired as some kind of Bill Parcells role.

Smart money says they hire a "players coach".

Maybe not that, but at least someone Favre wants as coach. That's what this is about. There were reports that Favre wasn't happy with Mangini at all because Mangini would call out Favre for throwing bad passes. And they probably made more of an investment into Favre over Mangini, so guess who loses their job...
