Chiefs agree to trade Alex Smith to Washington

Now you wait until March 14th for it to become official...

So your basis for the Chiefs overpaying Alex Smith is Damon Huard and his breakout season where he had the 2nd best Quarterback Rating, which he had while performing on a contract for a 3rd string QB? Good ****ing LORD, I've seen you cherry pick shit before, but this takes the cake.

Because Huard immediately signed a lucrative deal to be a starting quarterback after that season.

He was still being paid backup money when he signed an extension following that season, because he performed at a backup QB level.

As Alex did for four seasons.

Overpaid, period.

2nd overall quarterback rating is "performing at a backup level".

In fact, the Chiefs pass protection ratings were all flawed, too! They should be ranked MUCH lower. MUCH MUCH lower.

It's just amazing that with all those shitheads ****ing everything up around him Alex Smith managed to drag the Chiefs to a Top 5 season on offense.

Dumbass.

Now we're getting into the PFF bullshit stats, but guess what-- Sandy, Tigger, and ChiefsPASquirrelTits' precious passer rating stat is nothing more than a made-up advanced metric of sorts as well.

This shit puts to bed any notion at all that Alex Smith is some precious commodity that we're really going to miss. If Smith's supporting cast of offensive weapons puts up remotely a HINT of the efficiency they did in 2017, Mahomes will probably dwarf Alex Smith in passing yards and TDs in 2018. He's probably going to ****ing push 5000, I imagine.
Who?

As SNR pointed out, there were several dominoes that had to fall in to place in order to make that trade happen. Yes, the Chiefs did FINALLY get some luck to go with their planning.

"Planning". "Chiefs". Yep, there's two words that didn't go together until Dorsey arrived. Glad Veach is around to keep it moving forward.

No. Wrong. Incorrect. Factually inaccurate.

Smith's QB rating from 2013-2016 was 92.2.

That would have ranked 17th in 2015.

His YPA was 7.0.

That would have ranked 25th in 2015.

Backup level play.

Blow me.

No. I still maintain he performed at a backup QB level from 2013-2016.

Below average in yards per game, TDs per game, YPA and QB rating.
