Trevor Pryce on the Trading Block

Colin Cowherd reports that Trevor Pryce is being shopped by the Broncos but I bet teams don't line up to take him.

Trevor is scheduled to make huge dollars next year. Before his surgery the Broncos were glad to pay and we really, really, really needed him to shore up our patch-work crappy D-line.

What's weird is that he was supposed to return to the field by Halloween, then November, then the playoffs. He never made it back last year. Something tells me Pryce is damaged goods. Bummer, he was a force.

With the amount of restructuring Shanahan does, there's no way you can say he hadn't been approach to. 3rd strike and he's out.

Also if they're really moving to the 3-4, you're not expecting the DEs to rush as much, more occupy blockers. You don't need a guy making a ton of money to do that.
Why would they Donks go to the 3-4? Just to get Terry Pierce on the field?

If they really are moving to a 3-4, they should keep Pryce. IMO, he's perfectly suited to play DE in a 3-4.

They have been reportedly considering it since the end of the season. They're obsessed with stopping the Colts...

I think everyone assumed that until the Den Post article today, and Pryce's agent hinted that TP apparently wasn't a good 3-4 fit on one of Denver's radio stations.

This really seems like more of a cap move to me then a bad fit in their new scheme. They're not in cap trouble, but he's got a huge contract and they'd like to get rid of it for any value they can. His number is over $9M next year, and should go over $10M each of the next 3 seasons after that.

Pierce or Sykes or Chukwarh (or however you spell his name). 1 of those 3.

and of course it is supposed to be the formation that Peyton can't dissect.

It might help if you had Belichick and Romeo Crennel, as well.

We have Shanahan and his revolving door of D-coordinators. We don't need that.

And it would really help if you're physical at the line with the receivers, lay the wood on them when the ball gets to them, and put pressure on Pussyton, so that he gets rid of the ball quicker than usual, cause he doesn't like taking hits.

That's obvious to anyone but the people who develop Denver's defensive schemes.

If this is in response to my post, then it seems that it's only obvious to the Pats and Jags, from what I've seen.
