They stole an entire line from Unforgiven. I did like the movie though.

Good movie...but not great.

Funny how T'Challa/Black Panther was for Wakandian interests first, borders etc.

Then the oppressive black character of Michael B Jordan gets him to change his mind at the end to open up bridges to other nations.

He could have stood up at a press conference and said "I am Black Panther" like Iron Man but some cop would have just shot at him.

There you go. I hope that was the politics that you wanted injected into the thread.

I loved it. Hype is totally deserved. My mild criticism of some battle action being a little confusing and/or boring is tempered by some simple facts that place this film well above other marvel fare (of which I am a fan.). Marvel is not known for visually beautiful films but this is absolutely a leap forward for them. The performances especially from Michael B.Jordan and Chadwick Boseman are fresh, dynamic and layered, best complete cast in ages. I even loved Andy Serkis and I have a vendetta against him for how he disrespects animators. Nice to see him deliver all by himself. It was great world building, great cultural development, and at its core great story with emotional stakes and a deeply personal primary conflict which is refreshing in a huge marvel movie. I loved the ritual combat fights just found the larger end battle and the Korea fight and chase a little confusing and boring. Also, the fighting rhinos looked like shit. Overall, it is now my favorite marvel movie.

Just to give a bit of an example of how far Marvel is ahead of DC right now.

Black Panther (four day totals): Domestic: $235,000,000
Justice League (Full run totals): Domestic: $228,616,472

Black Panther's way ahead of Doctor Strange and Thor: Ragnarok, too, but they also finished with higher domestic box totals than Justice League.

A Closer Look at 'Black Panther's Record Smashing Opening

by Brad Brevet

February 20, 2018

Actual grosses for the weekend are in and Black Panther continues to break more and more records after becoming only the fifth film to ever deliver over $200 million in its first three days of release and the second largest four-day gross in history. Those, however, are just some of the highlights from this past weekend and we'll begin by taking a look at the film's performance, beginning with the charts where Black Panther sits at #1.

LARGEST FEBRUARY OPENING WEEKEND - $202,003,951
PREVIOUS RECORD HOLDER: Deadpool ($132,434,639)

LARGEST WINTER SEASON OPENING WEEKEND - $202,003,951
PREVIOUS RECORD HOLDER: Deadpool ($132,434,639)

LARGEST PRESIDENT'S DAY WEEKEND OPENING - $242,155,680
PREVIOUS RECORD HOLDER: Deadpool ($152,193,853)

LARGEST MONDAY - $40,151,729
PREVIOUS RECORD HOLDER: Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($40,109,742)

LARGEST THURSDAY PREVIEW GROSS IN THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY - $25.2 million
PREVIOUS RECORD HOLDER: Deadpool ($12.7 million)

Beyond those charts, Black Panther places second only to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, as the second highest four-day gross of all-time and the second largest Sunday of all-time by just $485,750.

Black Panther also places second only to The Avengers on several charts, including the second highest opening for a comic book adaptation, for a film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, for a Marvel Comic adaptation and for a superhero movie. For that matter, within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Black Panther has already outgrossed the lifetime domestic totals for Doctor Strange ($232.6m), Thor: The Dark World ($206.3m), Thor ($181m), Ant-Man ($180.2m), Captain America: The First Avenger ($176.6m) and The Incredible Hulk ($134.8m) and will top Captain America: The Winter Soldier ($259.7m) once Tuesday grosses arrive.

I don't want to hijack this thread, because that'd be racist - but it was the best western I've seen - by a pretty big margin - I'd say Outlaw Josey Wales was my prior #1

I really enjoyed the movie. Easily top 5 of the Marvel movies with CA: Winter Soldier being at the top for me.

I agree with the previous comment that Ulysses Klaue stole the show. I wish there was a way to get rid of him without killing him. Maybe a Captain America cameo to take him into custody or something.
