****OFFICIAL 2019 Arrowhead Playoff Game Tailgating Thread****

1/19/2019 - AFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME - Gates open at 9am (or earlier if traffic is backed up)

Lzen and his crew will be at their normal spot, which is as close to G29 as possible. He is very good about posting the morning of to let everyone know where they ended up, so keep an eye out.

The Springfield/Topeka crew (including yours truly and 007) will be across the street from our usual spot in the median near F24. We will be in Lot N. I will try to get on the morning of to post the nearest lot marker once we get there. Long story short, we will be in along the road in Lot N across from F/24.

Last I talked to Monty, his crew will also be in Lot N, but closer to Gate 6. They will have the usual Chiefs flag and beer flag. He was feeling under the weather and unsure if he would be able to go, but I'm sure he'll keep us posted if he's going to be there.

As usual, grill space will be available (I'm sure the same is true at all tailgates). You are welcome to bring food items (side dishes are welcome, too) or barter for food with beer (or other adult beverages). I've never met anyone from this sight that wasn't actually really cool in real life, so don't let any possible beefs with anyone on here stop you from stopping by any of these tailgates. Also remember, there are others at these tailgates who do not post on this board. My crew knows what people mean when they come around looking for luv...lol. Just in case, though, my name is actually LeAnn.

ALSO, all of these tailgates are located on the end of the stadium that says ARROWHEAD (the other side says CHIEFS).

Just a little cold weather reminder from last years game, although it's supposed to be slightly warmer this Sunday. So, hopefully, we all wont freeze our collective urethra's off.

Keep your phones warm. And charged. Last year, at the main gates, there were several thousand people that were delayed entering the stadium due to the phones being so cold they couldn't bring up their tickets to be scanned. I believe several folks on this site didn't get into their seats until well into the first quarter.

I was fortunate that I had the gold entrance last year. As soon as I got past the ticket scanner my phone shut off from being so GD cold. And that was just from walking from the lot to the gate. It came back on while we waited in the heated concourse, but it was an anxiety inducing experience.

Yes, it was. I remember that and i had my phone under three layers because I was afraid of that. Bunch of people were not very happy when they FINALLY got to the gate. That was a friggin nightmare. The worst entry lines I ever experienced at Arrowhead.

Thanks for the reminder... and this year you have to install the TM app, since apparently screenshots won't work. They're supposedly downloaded to the phone when you do that.

Good call on the gates. Last week wasn't nearly as bad as the AFC championship game last year. We left an hour early to both games, last year we got in after kick off and missed the first 5 minutes of the game. Last week we found ourselves walking around the concourses of the upper bowl with nothing to do for 40 minutes. Hopefully they have remedied the gate problem for good.

Just keep in mind, everyone wearing steel toed boots is gonna get a pat down, and it takes ****ing forever.

It was pretty smooth last week, except for the assholes trying to smuggle in alcohol who kept holding up the line.

Don’t be a dick and hold up the line. Get drunk in the parking lot and buy a few beers in the stadium. It was getting really ****ing annoying for awhile and I thought it was going to make me miss kickoff.

I feel more confident about beating these guys now than I did in the regular season. Mike Penel, Suggs, and Eric Fisher and mostly a healthy Mahomes is why.

I'm heading in 2 hours early this year. I'm not getting stuck in that shit ever again

So weather wise how should I dress? I'm in the lower level and considering wearing a ski bib and thermals. Will that be too much?

I am also in the lower level and that is pretty much exactly what my wife and I are wearing. But I plan on layering to hell and back.

Depending on where you're coming from, but I don't think you'll have too much issues, since the rain will wash off the ice (or at least the temps will, since it's likely going to go over 40 overnight). That being said, do watch for refreezing as Saturday's high will be in the high 20's.

Just take your time, drive slow and safe, you'll be fine.
