Game of Thrones *Spoiler* Thread

There's been some recent confusion with the old spoiler thread, so I'm kicking off a new one for tonight's premiere. This is going to be the one for folks who've read all the books. So anything anybody might want to talk about is in bounds. Suffice to say, if you haven't read the books, you'll probably want to stay out of here until you do...

I'll bump the old spoiler-free thread shortly in case anybody's interested. For future reference the link to that one is here

Scott, you'd be better off posting in the spoiler-free thread!

But if you don't care about being spoiled on major events before you see them on the show, then I guess we shouldn't care either. Kind of a crappy way to find out about things though, much better to read it or see it in the show than see it mentioned in a post.

It could conceivably be one of the most talked about moments in the series if they do it, especially if it's to end the season, and it's something they'd want to keep under wraps as much as possible so there's no way any producer's going to let it slip early. They would have to change it up a bit since it's been more than 3 days but it makes sense dramatically as far as the season structure to wait.
i think they still will do it. an as u mention the brienne story, it would be a shame to take that moment away as well. what a great chapter that was when brienne runs into stoneheart. i cant see them throwing both those moments away. it ends the book, it should end this season.

i also would like to see littlefingers conversation with sansa put into the finale. i know it happens on the boat but would be a nice thing to add to the close out of the season. littlefingers early ambitious reveal is one of the things i didnt like about the show(along with jaimes scene with cersi this week). even with hints, him being on that boat surprised me. i thought the reveal was less surprising in the show.

I thought that was pretty close to what happened in the books. Littlefinger was on the boat and has Dontos killed in the books, some of the dialogue was very close to the book. He reveals all that he does on the show in the books at that point too, except on the show, he does not reveal that it was Lady Olenna who poisoned Joffrey like he does in the book. I guess they wanted to leave that mystery for show viewers a little longer.

Now there are more reveals by Littlefinger at the end of the book after Sansa and Lysa go at it, and the show did not touch on those yet either.

Didn't they just go way off the reservation with the entire Bran story line. I don't remember him getting caught at all. But Maybe I remember this incorrectly.

I don't think he ever got caught on his trek north. He ran into Jon Snow before the Wall fighting Ygrette and her clan where he warged into Summer and Shaggy to help him, then met with Sam and Gilly that took Bran and his party to Coldhands. He never got caught by anything north of the Wall, but had to fight the Wights by warging into Hodor.

I don't recall the Wights turning Craster's kids into other Wights in the book.

The Bran storyline is drastically different than the books. Also, I don't recall Jon Snow going back to Crasters?

This thread is going to turn into a prognostication thread of how they will detour from the books, and how it will play out over the long haul (provided the endgames of the characters remain basically the same in the show).

It's eventually going to turn into a reverse spoiler thread where we all get pissed because stuff is happening on the show that hasn't happened in print yet.

Has there been mention of a Witch King Other in the books? That took me off guard. As did Bran and Co. getting caught by the Night Watch deserters, and finding out Ghost has been held "captive" there.
