Any Jeep Wrangler owners?

The wife and I picked up a new (to us) 2016 Wrangler Sahara Back Country Unlimited the other day. Having never drove a Wrangler, I told her she wouldn't like it - however after 5 minutes in the Jeep, she said she "absolutely loved it" - so we bought it. I am having a blast with it here after a week in KC, and was curious if there are any other Wrangler owners here?!

I had a wrangler back in the day and loved it. Then. A few years Ago I thought I’d get another one, and nearly shit all over myself when I saw the used market on them.

I’m not sure when it happened but both the new And used market in them are reeruned. They must be in huge demand. I bought my 2001 in 2004 with 40k miles for 14.5k and it had big after market wheels on it.

I don’t own one, but I have friends that do. And they always get broken/chipped windshields on them from rocks getting kicked up. The windshield is almost at a 90 degree angle.

Here’s a tip lol if you do get a chipped windshield immediately cover the chip with scotch tape (that will keep moisture from getting in) and then use one of those $10 windshield chip sealer kits on it. You’re good to go. What makes it spider web is moisture getting in there and every time you slam the door shut the vacuum will push out at the weakest point. That’s why when you get a new windshield you’re supposed to leave the windows cracked for a couple of days.

I've heard that you're supposed to roll them within the first 1,000 miles to break them in. Be sure to do that.

About 3 weeks ago, the wife bought a Canuck Wrangler JK, 2018, with 5K miles on it. She traded in her 2011 Liberty on it. Before that she had a 2006 Liberty (she put over 100k miles on both of them). I have a 2011 Liberty (96k). In another life I had a new 1984 Wrangler bought in NH.

When I was on the road a lot, it was nice knowing the weather wouldn't stop us from traveling. When we lived in Upstate NY (Oswego), she drove her 2006 Liberty 35 miles each way to Liverpool (Syracuse burb) for work. In 5 years she missed zero minutes of work because of weather. That includes some seriously shitty lake effect snow days.

We like our Jeeps.

My dad has a cherokee trailhawk that he took to kansas rocksas and put it through the paces straight out of the factory. It did fine against custom old ass jeeps. So they are good at what they do. EXPENSIVE

I lived there for 3 years (‘97 through ‘99), on Old Liverpool Road behind the long-closed McDonald’s. I had never heard of lake effect snow when I moved there. I learned about it real ****ing quick.
