VARSITY
Kadarious Toney live on Instagram saying Chiefs are lying about his injury

This seems too stupid to not be real.

Keep him until after training camp, then cut him. That way if by chance someone gets hurt he can be a ready spare. Cutting him after camp limits his ability to be on someone elses roster too

It's a paltry $2.5 million to get rid of Toney. Andy is clearly done with him and so is Patrick. Move on
Paltry 2.5 mil when we are likely to be up against the cap every year. Plus, it's the extra 1 mil for the roster replacement as the 5th wr. So that's 3.5 mil when every dollar counts.

They may decide that it's worth it to move on anyway but we've largely been able to be at the top because we haven't had much dead cap in the last few years. We've basically been maxing out our contacts by paying only the players actually playing for us.

Or maybe they can find someone out there willing to give us like a 2025 7th rounder - largely to take his salary off of our hands.
It was a joke...

Guys. It’s training camp. An entire offseason.

I’m not saying he’s destined for greatness, but if he reduces his boneheadedness by 40%, Toney can be an asset to us at a cheap price.

Remember the glove adjust catch against San Francisco? You don’t want to give the guy a chance to prove he can do that again?

Look if the team determines he’s a lost cause by the end of the offseason they’ll get rid of him. Until then, there have been stranger stories in the NFL of dudes who figured their shit out when they appeared to be too stupid and immature to have any kind of career

In reality he may be brought back as just the return guy.

Because we owe him +$2MM no matter what (unless traded), I'd happily bring him back as WR7 and Punt Return specialist. I just don't want him anywhere near our O as an actual regular rotational WR.

If he's nothing more than return man that runs a few gadget plays, he has value there.

Comparing Willie to Toney is quite the stretch. Willie isn't in the trainers room being treated all the time bc he's a broke dick. Willie isn't losing us games. Willie isn't making our QB want to send him to Guantanamo Bay.

Willie also isn't shit talking the team behind their backs on social media.

Would rather have Hardman than Toney. Hardman makes some bone headed plays at times but he's gonna be cheap as hell, he's still young, can clearly play that role and has only been an injury concern a couple of times which were legit reasons.

Toney is always hurt. Dude has a hammy ever 2 weeks

Yea but to do that, you're paying double cause Hardman is a FA and Toney is not.

Hardman had a crazy injury too. He might get another step back after a full regular offseason.
