I went to a 'spiritual therapist' the other day and she asked if I did anything creative. I explained that I used to write, and she encouraged me to do more of that. So given that mandate and the fact that the Chiefs are 3-0 when I post a poem in the gameday forum, I gave it a shot again. Please don't judge - this is my therapy.

The Old Man (Brady) and the GOAT (Mahomes)

“Sit down next to me”
Said the old man to the GOAT
As the two gazed into the sunset
The afternoon spent on the boat

“I’ll tell you of a lifetime rich with rings”
“I’ll tell you the secret of many things”
“I’ll tell you about being one of the kings”
“I’ll tell you about success and what it brings”

The GOAT stared admirably
Absorbing the wise words of the old man
Who talked on and on about being disrespected
Who accentuated the value of a plan

“One day, young GOAT
You will rise up and take my place,
For I am old-er and tired-er and weary-er
And for you that’s not the case”

Okay, thought the GOAT,
Who did not have any rings,
Who did not know any kings,
Who did not know many things,

For I am just a GOAT,
It stands for “Greatest Of All Time”
It’s more than just a line
My other nickname called “Showtime”

And the old man talked and talked and talked,
The sunset faded into black,
He talked of dynasties, diamonds, models,
Working the pocket to avoid a sack

And the GOAT grew tired,
As preachy was this bitch,
For the GOAT was very hungry,
The old man was very rich

And that’s the thing in life
Change being an immutable law
Without change the world is constant
The greatest glaciers never thaw

And as the old man peered into the river,
Still quite pleased with his reflection,
The GOAT had heard enough
Of condescending introspection

“The day I rise is now
Tomorrow is no guarantee
I’ll take one ring today
Perhaps in a couple years I’ll have three”

And with that, the goat unleashed a mighty kick,
The old man sent flying into the water
He thrashed and thrashed in panic,
Never foreseeing this type of slaughter

And as the old man sunk into the depths
His dynasty lost into the deep, dark blue,
The GOAT was finally the GOAT
Patriots and their fans, well, go **** you

I know people hate him, but if you look past him being on NE Patriots, he isn't a bad guy. Just dorky. Haha.
He puts the hate on himself. I feel bad for his mom if she's in pain, but that doesn't change the fact that Tom is a douche. No, not a dork. "Dork" implies lovability in some way.

Doing this underdog "buh buh buh everybody thinks we suck" routine as a cheap attempt at team motivation is indicative of why people hate him. He has a history of pulling these kind of stunts. That's not being a dork. That's being an epic douche.

If his mom dies, they'll say, "That sucks" and then continue hating him. That's what his actions have warranted.

The discrepancy is even more magnified this season where you didn't have as strong of roster....8-0 home/3-5 road.

I never implied that Belichick and Brady aren't good at what they do...I AM implying that it wasn't the only factor involved in the Foxborough mystique...or to simplify "impropriety".

I haven't really put much thought into the "NE way"...or that every coach, that leaves that place, fails. That fact alone is weird. Patriots weren't a factor in the AFCW except on a rare occasion. This AFCCG game led me dive a bit into whats actually been going on...and I think the numbers suggest something is compromised...or "corrupted".

There is no question that the culture there pushes things to see what they can get away with...Josh McDaniels got busted filming the 49ers with the Broncos...where do you think this idea permeated from?
Every coach that leaves that place fails because they don't have Tom Brady. The NFL is a player's league, specifically the QB. No Tom Brady, no Patriot Way. BB is a great coach but coaches can't overcome lack of talent, especially at QB.

Tom Brady IS the New England Patriots.

It's amazing people haven't figured that out. Kingsbury doesn't have an NFL job if Mahomes didn't exist and Fangio wouldn't have a head coaching job if the Bears never traded for Khalil Mack. Much more likely that the player makes the coach rather than vice versa, but yet the same cycle keeps repeating.

When I was a kid in Germany, my team was Schalke 04. I don't really keep up but, have they managed to win anything in the past 40 years?
