*.* NEW- 2014 General Fitness Thread *.*
I guess we filled up the old one... http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=280149
Welcome to 2014! Now get your ass in top physical condition! No one else started it so here it is! **From the 2013 Thread** If you want to get back into lifting, or need a new lifting routine, START HERE: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wi...inner_Programs If you have questions about the SS programs, look here: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ Keep in mind that you're a novice lifter for a longer period of time than you think you are. Novice lifting can last anywhere from a few months to a year or two, depending on how hard you hit the weights and where you started. Once you've reached the point where you don't make regular progress on the SS program, you are ready to move on to the intermediate stage, which can last you for a good number of years. Find it HERE: http://madcow.hostzi.com/5x5_Program/Linear_5x5.htm If you're a very advanced lifter (many, many years of CONSISTENT weight training), then there are lot of programs out there, and which one you pick is simply a matter of preference. If you're really that advanced, you should know what works for you and what doesn't by this point. |

What you're doing is working, so don't change it unless you feel comfortable. If you feel like you could give up an extra 100 calories a day, try it. See how that goes for 2-3 days. If you feel like you can give up more, try a little more. I'm just now starting to eat more than 1500 calories per day, trying to ramp back up to 2500 or so. |

Saw my coach today... he said I need to drop 10-12 more lbs so either shoot for the comp in OK in 4 weeks or he can put me though 2 weeks of hell to get there for the KC show He's not looking for me to get a participation ribbon, but to be a top guy in my class I guess if I do it. I showed him the pic of the guy that got 6th and he just said "Yeah, that guy looks like shit"

Starvation mode is vastly over-stated. You can go very low on calories without burning a ton of muscle. Once you have muscle, your body isn't going to want to just get rid of it unless you went into full fast mode for days on end (a la survivor). Calories can be dropped pretty significantly but do focus on getting a good amount of protein.

Dead lifted 225 three times! New Pr. I'm a little proud of that one.
I figure, once I get to where I can do a set of five, then I'll try adding more weight. |

Should be able to extend cycle to around 10 weeks but should take at least three off when complete. |

I didn't feel as much my second cycle either. Taking extra time until next cycle and may try the keto with it.

That's pretty damn impressive luv. I think you should **** the getting on stage for a figure comp and go with the lean body powerlifting gig. You've progressed very well strength wise and if you keep focusing on strength, you'll be very strong for your size. And no, focusing on strength will not make you blowup so don't anyone try to say that shit.
