Most people prefer not to type passwords using their remote control. Once you're logged in, you won't need anything else.

Both my TVs are old, non-smart TVs. I'm surprised they've lasted as long as they have, but both still work fine and I see no reason to replace them. Obviously behind the times, but I'm old and don't give a ****. I have the TV in the den hooked up to computer, so all I have to do is switch the output and I'll be able to put the game on it. Works for me.

I realize at some point I'll need to get smart TVs because regular TV is clearly going the way of the 8-track, but not today.

If the TV has an HDMI input you can just get a Roku, AppleTV or GoogleTV.

I have a subscription to AppleTV, but not the Google thing. Don't even know what Roku is.

I don't like old tech for the sake of old tech. I have no desire to go back to vinyl records.

But if you already have a setup driving your TV from a computer, I don't see how smart TV, in general, improves the experience as opposed to using the TV as a computer monitor from the desktop.

I have a wireless keyboard mouse on my coffee table. It works better, for the most part, than when I watch my buddies try to navigate their smart TVs.
