Barring injury, looks like the only impact rookie will be Fisher. this team looks alot like last years. There is alot of hope for change riding on Andy Reid, his staff and Alex Smith.

secondary and d-line look by far the weakest

no depth on d-line but a bunch of unproductive what if scrubs
the starters arent anything to cry home about either.

the secondary besides flowers looks like a burn unit waiting to happen

Brandon Flowers, Sean Smith, Eric Berry and Kendrick Lewis is a pretty solid starting defensive backfield.

Sean Smith is a very nice fit in Sutton's press coverage scheme, especially when he isn't asked to the #1 guy, and having a guy like Robinson as your nickleback is a luxury.

Depth might be a bit of a concern, but I think Jalil Brown, like Sean Smith, fits this system very nicely and he's shown flashes. I have hope for a guy like Brad McDougald as well. Guy was completely underrated in college and I was very happy that the Chiefs picked him up as a free agent after the draft.

Kendrick Lewis is terrible

and again Dunta Robinson cannot and will not play the nickel. If he's covering the slot we will be one of the worst teams against the pass this year.

If that's really our depth chart, my initial reactions are:

1. We have Jamaal Charles! We win!

2. Wow, we have a lot of new backups on the OL.

3. Travis Kelce isn't ahead of Fasano? Hopefully that'll change.

4. As mentioned earlier, it seems like Jackson and DeVito should flipflop, but maybe that's harder than I think.

5. Our linebackers rock.

6. If Brandon Flowers goes down, we're [past tense F word].

7. Ricky Stanzi's hair hasn't made it very far on the depth chart.

Lewis' only problem is that reoccurring shoulder injury. He tracks the ball very well in both the run and pass, and when healthy is a solid player. He was the better of the two safeties during he and Berry's rookie season, but hasn't been truly healthy since.

And Brown has shown flashes. He's got very good instincts with regard to finding the ball/ball carrier and has a lot of natural ability on the field. He also takes silly chances and whiffs a lot, but that has a lot to do with coaching, or the lack thereof. He's shown enough that I think that he's got a chance to be a solid backup/terrific special teams guy who is capable enough to fill in in the event of an injury to Flowers or Smith. (Though Flowers is the type of guy who'd still run out on the field even if his leg fell off.)

Safety depth is a concern, especially with Lewis' injury history, but that always seems to be the case at that position. And, like I stated earlier, I think that McDougald has potential at either safety position. (He's only got two years at playing the position after being initially recruited by Ohio State but ended up at KU because he wanted to play receiver.)
