Its always interesting to me when a coach goes about things in a completely non-traditional way. Nolan Richardson's 40 minutes of hell and Mike Leech's spread were both sideshows that worked. Others haven't. I don't know if Weis is going to be successful, but I will watch the spectacle with interest.

Ok, so contrary to what I was told above he still had backups to Crist and Heaps, so why again is he adding all these QBs?

I admit, MU fans were starting to get under my skin a bit when over the last two years their program won some regular season games and KU had to deal with the catastrophe that was Turner Gill.

Then I saw the Independence Bowl crowd. I realized that Kansas, under no circumstances, would have such a terrible showing in a postseason game. Why then let another fanbase bother you? Can't see how at this point.

There are currently 2 QBs on the roster, Michael Cummings and Blake Jablonski (Jordan Web and Brock Berglund have both been granted their release)

Cummings and Jablonski have no in game experience (which has been mentioned here)

It's probably not a good idea to Have just Dayne Crist as your ONLY QB with in game experience...hence you bring in a JUCO Champion in Turner Baty. Is Baty great? Maybe, maybe not...but they know he can take snaps. And since Heaps can't play until next year (as explained earlier in this thread) it would be idiotic to leave just Crist out there with two guys who have never taken a snap in college football (as mentioned in this thread).

Webb was not that good, really. I'm glad he left. But I'm thinking that he saw the writing on the wall in the fact that the new offense was not what he was used to as well as much more talented QBs coming in.

The whole Bergland thing is all on him. He chose to be a douche about it. He was trouble from the start. Good riddance.

That's a legitimate question. You would have to ask CW for the answer. But I would guess that its because a)Crist is only here for one year and b)the new QBs are more talented/fit better into the pro style offense.
