With McDaniels gone, who is out there at OC?

Sort of feels like the OC cupboard is bare. I know most people here didn't want McDaniels, but I also haven't seen much in ther way of other realistic names being thrown around. Who do you want now?

I'm all for Rob but really why would he leave what he has in Carolina for KC?
The Asst HC title is just to get around the lateral move thing. Heck, Mo Carthoun was Haley's asst. HC what did that get him?

The Chiefs would have to throw a boat load of money at him, promise him the HC job if Romeo screwed it up and promise him a different QB.
Hey, I'm not against that, Just don't see it happening.

The NFL no longer allows that BS asst. HC tag as a promotion.

This would be considered a lateral move, and is not allowed any longer.

I'd be happy with Clements.

As milkman and several others have said getting Clements as OC is a lateral move. It would be up to the Packers' benevolence to allow him to make this career move. Unless Clements' contract with them is at an end I doubt now if we could get him, since we are not getting him as HC.

None of us have said that about Clements specifically, though moving from position coach to OC is not considered a promotion by the NFL.

But I do think that it is probably viewed as such by the cooaching fraternity, and I highly doubt the Packers would stand in the way if Clements wanted to persue that opportunity.

I just hope Zorn isn't promoted to OC.

We need to bring in some new blood SOMEWHERE...

Don't worry.

We'll promote Zorn, but we will bring in some new blood.

We'll hire some former high school equipment manager to coach the QBs.

[QUOTE=jcroft;8271284]Everyone wants to celebrate that the Chiefs won't get McDaniels, and no one wants to tell me who we should get that is better. I didn't really want McD either, but until someone has a better name, it feels like we missed out on our best option.[/

After watching the rams a few times, who wouldn't be better? I'm gonna send my son up to apply. He's awesome and unpredictable at madden and can win with lame QBs

Clements is the guy I've wanted us to bring back for some time.

Every time we had a position open on offense, I've been vocal about him.

He was our quarterback for a year under Marv. He coached quarterbacks for us in 2000 and got Elvis his best year as a pro.

The job he has done in GB speaks for itself.

He would be a fantastic hire.

I bet the Packers will let Philbin go to KC so they don't lose Clements, though.

If not, it's happy time.

It would be...if Clements were OC in Green Bay.
He's not.
