You can't make mistakes against KC. Play flawless or take the L, because KC is THAT good. And playing mistake free football is rare. It almost never happens. You can fumble and both an ST play against most teams in the league and never suffer the consequences. You can't do that vs KC at home and expect to win.

You lost your starting LT early in the game and your other starting safety was ejected. Sorry for you, but your safety’s own stupidity got him ejected. He needs to be smarter. That said, we were missing our first team All Pro starting safety and our best run stopping DE (Clark), which is part of the reason you gashed us so easily on the ground. So I would argue our guys missing were just as significant as yours, if not more. Second, “the Browns had a fumble, an INT and a muffed punt”. This is an accurate statement, but you know what else is an accurate statement? The Chiefs forced a fumble (Thornhill knocked it out), the Chiefs caused an INT (Sorenson was bringing Baker down from behind when he threw it) and you muffed a punt. I’ll give you the muffed punt was your own stupidity and a self inflicted error, but all you did by that versus punting was speed up the scoring process at that point in the game. The Chiefs were rolling on offense by then and had no problem moving the ball against your D. You actually saved yourself a few minutes and were able to get another possession out of it at the end of the game and give Baker another chance to drive and win it . . . . . . . speaking of which. Baker was pinpoint accurate with his passes most of the day. It’s not like he was out there chucking the ball up for grabs. The INT he threw at the end was NOT a self inflicted error. It was a great play be a defender (Sorenson) that caused it. Same with the Chubb fumble. It’s not like he was chugging a long and just coughed it up of his own volition. It was knocked out. Another great play by a defender. If you want to say it was uncharacteristic of him to fumble, fine. I’ll buy that. But to suggest it was just some random unforced error and he coughed it up. The defender got it out. Sometimes you just tip your cap, no matter how good of a ball carrier you may be or have been. No, the Browns didn’t play a perfect game. But they played a pretty damn good one. And I do think with your running game firing on all cylinders and Baker being as accurate as he was all day yesterday, your offense played about as well as it can play. And you still lost. I would agree that your D will get better as the year goes along, but ‘better’ and able to shut down the Chiefs offense are two different things. If we do see you all again in January, which is quite possible, I have no doubt the Chiefs will continue to move the ball with ease against your defense. Not because I think your defense sucks or won’t get better as the year goes along, but because the Chiefs have the best offense in the NFL and they’re REALLY damn hard to slow down. The one weakness we had on offense was the O-Line. That has been fixed and will get stronger as the year goes along as they adapt to playing together along the line. When we meet again (if we meet again), the real question is will your offense still be able to move the ball so easily if we have Honey Badger out there and Clark back at DE? Good luck on the rest of your season. I hope you sweep the Steelers and embarrass them in the process. Hopefully we meet up again in the playoffs. Should be a fun game, part 2. |

Baker Mayfield's ceiling is Alex Smith. Maybe with good coaching and team building you all will have 10-12 wins a year and some play off games. You'll win 1 or 2, but never be able to win a big game. You're stuck in QB hell and wont ever get out of it until Mayfield retires. The Chiefs got out of it due to visionary leadership and Patrick Mahomes, both of which Cleveland will never have.
You're the saddest most pathetic franchise in the NFL. You losers haven't even won your division since 1989 and you've only came in 2nd place in your division 3 times since then. You shouldn't even be allowed on this message board, scum bag loser. |
