Eric Fisher injured Friday [but is ACTIVE for Oakland]

Eric Fisher T, Kansas City Chiefs
Coach Andy Reid told reporters Friday that Chiefs LT Eric Fisher suffered a groin injury during practice Friday.

Fisher is expected to be listed on the teams' official injury report later this afternoon. He allowed just two pressures on 41 snaps in pass protection in Week 1 and finished 2018 as PFF's No. 26 overall offensive tackle among 62 qualified players. Potentially being without your LT is never ideal, but the Chiefs are still set up brilliantly this week against the Raiders' anemic secondary.

It'd be hilarious if "Gimpy Mahomes" was just 2015 Alex Smith and we started dominating TOP and nursing 7 and 10 point leads in the second half of games and laughing while the clock ticked down.

Not a bad strategy. Control the clock and help the KC defense.

I wouldn't want that in the long-term, but honestly it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world for our offense to get that kind of game down. There are times when a 7-minute drive can completely put a game out of reach while a 30-second TD just puts our shitty defense back out there again.

Yep. Both of our losses to the Patriots and our loss to the Rams would have been wins if we didn't score so fast on our last drives.

I don’t see the Chiefs ever being able to slow their scoring down unless they are just dominant running the ball, which is unlikely.

Then again, I’m just not a huge fan of saving bullets to slow things down too much. Scoring is no guarantee, you’ve gotta do it when you can. Figure out the rest later.

We really should’ve just conceded the touchdown on the Patriots last drive of regulation in the AFC Title Game. Let them score right away and give Mahomes some time.

What’s more likely:

Our defense stops the Patriots offense from scoring a touchdown?

Or

Our offense scores a touchdown against the Patriots?

I’m putting the ball in Mahomes’s hands all day in that situation.

In terms of strategy against the Raiders, it is and remains pressure on Carr.

Fluster that Emo bitch and nothing else matters.
Give him all day to pick the secondary apart, . . . same.

True. Weren’t we one of the most penalized defenses in the league though? It shouldn’t be too surprising that a lack of discipline cost us at the worst possible time.

Without knowing the result of the drive though, I’d still rather be in the position to win with Mahomes on the field than trying to stop a good team with that defense on the field.

I don't know that we'll ever be a dominant running team, but with the skillsets of Damien and Shady, I think we could fairly easily run and screen pass our way down the field. Andy runs screens like no one else.

Different from the Air Coryell screens we ran under Vermeil/Saunders, but equally effective.

Good concept but I'm not sure that Andy Reid knows how to control the clock. He's shown almost no ability managing the clock since he came here.
