Lamar Jackson is a NIGHTMARE!!

When the media tried to compare him to Pat before we played the Ravens it pissed me off because he'd beaten up on weak teams and of course no-one compares to number 15. But after watching him yesterday I must say this kid is gonna be a NIGHTMARE to deal with for years to come IF he continues to be so dynamic with the ball In his hands. Seattle simply had no answers to what he was doing and when he didn't run he was dropping the odd dime here and there with his arm. It got so bad that even "mvp favourite" Russell Wilson caved to the pressure and threw a pick six.

I wonder how long he can do this before the league catches up with him? The Ravens will be playing the Pats soon and I'm very intrigued to see what old Bill comes up with to slow down Lamar. We've seen guys like Kap, Vick and Cam be electric running the ball but Lamar seems to run in a different time zone on that field tbh .

Oh okay. Suuuuure taking 10 to 20 hits as a QB has worked swell in the past for running QBs.

Lamar Jackson is electric, don't get me wrong. It's just that I've seen electric get hurt too many times.

Any time a QB's arsenal has "running ability" as a top asset, that guy is doomed. Escapability is one thing. Mobility. Elusiveness. However you call it.

When guys are heralded for what they do as runners, it ends poorly. Just ask RG3 and Cam and Luck and Alex Smith. Every great running QB either ended in tragedy or evolution. Once Vick got with Andy and became a pocket passer, he was a different player.

Same with Steve Young. He had to learn to throw from the pocket. Shit - you don't even have to throw from the pocket. But you can't design runs. You have to use that ability to buy time to throw, like Russel and Mahomes do. If Lamar does that -- and I think he can -- he will be so much more deadly than as a guy who is constantly putting his body in jeopardy. The defenders are just too big to regularly expose yourself to that kind of risk.

We know Lamar can run. That's obvious. But can he catch?

That move he put on Hightower was Barry Sanderest. Just a incredible talent and athlete but I still think he is gonna get hurt bad.

Lamar proved last night that he's for real. He out-played Tom "GOAT" Brady. He didn't throw for as many yards, but he was better in almost every other QB statistical category. And in Passer Rating he was more than 25 points better.

And he's learning to go through his reads. Several times last night he went through all of his reads against a Bill Belichick defense. He's trying to be the next Steve Young. Not just a running QB. If he becomes even half of what Steve was, he's going to be a terror. Maybe even a true nightmare for many teams in the league.

I was watching highlites of last night's game. The LBers were trying to guess if he handed off or not. Guessing wrong mostly. I think I'd tell my guys to just slam into Lamar every time - whether he handed off or not. Just knock the crap out of him. Let the other guys chase the RB if he hands it off.

Not a bad idea. Of course, you actually have to be able to hit him, which is apparently pretty hard to do.
