Dak and the Cowboys are good at beating mediocre teams and horrible against legit playoff teams. Unlike Mahommes, He just doesn't have the "Right Stuff" as they used to say.

Highest paid doesn't equal best (except for right now since Mahomes is the highest paid), but typically that statement holds true.

With Dak's deal, I don't think there is anyway Mahomes does not redo his deal in a few years. I can't imagine him playing out all 10 years when the QB market is this ridiculous. I bet Lamar gets more.

There are a lot of outs in his deal for re-negotiations. I can't imagine him or the Chiefs feeling in a few years that his deal is fine when Dak signs an even bigger deal and scrubs like Tanny will also make more. The market is insane.

well jeez it's almost like he and his agent took less and negotiated an amazing deal that will mature well because he keeps making that cash while giving his team flexibility.

you know, like how brady's deal didn't look team friendly until it was? too bad for you mahomes did the same thing.

I guess time will tell to see how it goes a few years from now. For the record, I an a players first fan. They should make as much as they can as long as they can given the average NFL career is less than 4 years and contracts are not fully guaranteed. It is nice it worked out for Brady and that he also married the richest supermodel in the world, but it is a risk and also hurts future players from making their money as it dampens the market when the best player does not take his money.

From an average consumer perspective, what does this actually mean? I get broadcasting on CBS, etc. But at some point, are they going to be able to sell enough commercials to justify the broadcast rights? Or does this begin to shift towards a pay per view environment?

Maybe but the Cowboys opened up cap this year by signing Dak. I think much depends on fan attendance in Sept.
