Oh no, we're very familiar with it. We went up against an opponent in SBLI (who had the 7th highest scoring offense of all-time, by the way) whose fans used to bring up the same points - i.e., "our defense only gives up a billion yards and points in garbage time, but we swear it's a great unit!"

It's why I laugh my ass off everytime I hear Chiefs fans repeat the same garbage.

All right, splain it to us then. How do the Chiefs build 3 or 4 score leads every game? Pure luck? That yardage has nothing to do with the change in strategy or prevent defense?

How also do they seem to keep getting key stops when teams are back within striking distance?

Hrmmm...
"Prevent defense" isn't an excuse for why your team is giving up millions of yards and points. The whole point of going to a softer zone coverage late in the game is to keep everything in front of you and make teams go on long drives. Yet the Chiefs are allowing quick scores and letting teams get back in the game.

Your defense is allowing 6 yards per carry, can't tackle, and often has break downs in coverage. This is a very bad defense.

Actually, they haven't allowed many quick scores in those situations. The ones that were quick were typically due to a plethora of penalties. Teams also, yknow, have a tendency to relax a bit and lower their intensity when up 30-7 at the start of the 4th. These aren't robots.

But you dodged the question. Again, how are they routinely taking 3 or 4 score leads?
