And Pinkel is smart enough to know a healthy basketball program is good for his football program. Every ounce of brand recognition Missouri can get is good for all the sports.

True, but that has to hurt one's ego. Especially someone who has been at the university and built a program over the last 13 years.

Really? Not me... I don't pay their salaries so I don't care if it costs more for a better coach. That $1 mill per year is not going to hit the athletic department in a signficant manner and it is not like there is a salary cap.
