A Belichick defense isn't about sacks and hurries. Never has. Never will be. Hes right. We have applied more pressure this year as we are #2 in comp % against (BAL #1) (which is why the run D has suffered) but as you call out we don't have the closing talent BAL or you guys have.

We've been cleaning up the run D over the past few weeks and its improved. It's not great by any means but its enough to not get curb stomped like we were 6 weeks ago.

All that said a re-emphasis has been make on edge control and gap integrity. Those are priorities 1, and 2 respectfully.

Depending on the QB, it'll be either containment or moving him off his spot.

Mahomes presents a dilemma as he is outstanding at passing in and outside the pocket.

If we get to him, it'll be due to coverage sacks and not due to a speed rush.

Make sense?

But you do you, Homer Simpson.
Pass rush = QB pressure

This is very basic stuff. We were 3rd in the NFL this season in terms of getting pressure on the QB.

Let's talk about the Pats on the road:

Subtract the Jets/Bills/Dolphins on the road = they all suck though Dolphins won

Home team avg points: 27.8
Pats on road points: 17.6

Really all that matters

Scores:
Jags 31 - Pats 20
Lions 26 - Pats 10
Bears 31 - Pats 38
Titans 34 - Pats 10
Steelers 17 - Pats 10

Pats defense sucks on the road, their offense not much better and I'm hoping for a repeat performance

The Ravens had a much better run defense than we did this season, so yes, their defense was better overall. However, we have a better secondary than they do, and our pass rush has been more productive. 3rd in the NFL in overall pressures per snap, and top 10 in 4 man pass rush.
Chief possessions in Week 6:

8 plays 35 yards (FG)
1 play (INT)
5 plays 31 yards (FG)
11 plays 69 yards (FG)
9 plays 60 yards (INT)
3 plays 75 yards (TD)
9 plays 51 yards (FG)
4 plays 29 yards (TD)
3 plays 3 yards (TD)
3 plays 3 yards (PUNT)
1 play 75 yards (TD)

So when could KC do "virtually nothing" against NE?

KC pretty much moved the ball at will on NE, the difference in the first game was KC was 2/5 in the redzone. I don't see that happening at Arrowhead.

How many times is a team allowed to drop a 10-spot on the road before raiding a road opponent's board chest-beating about how shitty the opponent's defense is looks like tard-assery?

I'm starting to think you didn't even watch the first game. Mahomes was under no pressure at all on this first pick. Hightower faked the blitz then dropped into coverage. And the second was more Mahomes trying to make a play instead of throwing it away and taking the FG than it was about any pressure.

WTF? You just making stuff up off the top of your head?

1. Watkins is still banged up.
FALSE. Watkins had more snaps than any other WR vs Colts.

2. Tyreek Hill "hurt" his knee in the Colts game.
FALSE. He was running fine throughout that game. (Didn't hurt his knee vs Ravens either. It was his ankle/foot. And it did impact him vs. the Ravens.)

3. You still don't have Hunt.
DUH. Old news. Chiefs have proven they can run the ball and win games without him. As other Pats' fans have indicated, he really is in your head.

No doubt when Brady retires, Wham--who has been an ardent Patriots fan since 2002--will become the biggest Mahomes fan east of the Mississippi.

I think the game comes down to Ford, Houston and Jones. Brady has been very pedestrian against pressure this year (45.3% completion and 71.2 QBR. KC will score (of course), and if they can pressure Brady, NE wont be able to keep up.

You scored 24 in regulation.
So...much...nonsense...

Indirectly comparing your defense to the Ravens is funny. Your defense is flat out bad on the road. It’s okay to admit it. We have admitted it here about our own.

Watkins was very effective and played plenty of snaps against the colts.

Hill did not hurt his knee in the Colts game. No clue where you pull that from.

We scored 24 in regulation against a great defense and an offense that was able to play keep away. Again, the Pats defense is nowhere near the Ravens.

KC will score at least 27. BrAARPdy will have to keep pace.

Our lowest outputs on offense this year had Hunt in the lineup. We’ve actually been way more efficient without him.

Oh, and add in the fact that NO TEAM has held the Chiefs offense to <20 points. Nobody

Is reading comprehension a problem in Kansas City?

You didn't start scoring TDs until the 2nd half, when we played a lot more Cover 2 to try to protect the lead.

In the 1st half when we ran our usual Cover 1/Cover 3 defense, along with some Cover 0 w/ amoeba fronts, the Chiefs offense couldn't score a single TD.

This is actually true. I was thinking of those red zone trips by the Chiefs in the 1st half when our pressure resulted in 3rd down stops. Best example was when we came out in Cover 0 and got to Mahomes. The pressure forced a bad throw to Kelce who as 1 on 1 on 3rd down. Forced KC to settle for a FG.

The point remains. Pressure can affect a QB even when there is no sack.
