Well there are really only 2 ways the Chiefs make the playoffs in 2018 and both of them need to happen.

Pat Mahomes needs to play very well...and by very well I mean exceed everyone's expectations. Needs to be better than Andrew Luck coming into the league, I think last year's @DEN game really helped from a confidence standpoint. Hope it carries into this yr.

Defense has to play well, or at least bend just enough not to break, need to keep teams out of the endzone.

If KC fails at either, the Chiefs probably stay home in Jan. Personally I have more faith in Mahomes/right now than I do w/ the D right now. I think the defense is a couple yrs away from being SB worthy. Outside CB's are VERY concerning, esp if Houston/Jones/Ford aren't getting to the QB which is something i expect to occur.

So, to make the playoffs- our QB has to play well and the Defense can't suck?

This kind of goes with any time doesn't it?

I expect the Chiefs to win the division again and have a Bye week.

I actually think the defense can suck statistically and we can still win the division. Just need to have timely stops, turnovers, and bend don't break. The advantage of having a good offense. Going to be fun!

I don't really care about making the playoffs. Winning once they're there, I do care about that.

Yeah, we kind of have that whole "make it to the playoffs" thing covered pretty well now.

One is a necessary condition for the other, so I imagine you actually DO care about both.

So many talking about how the Chiefs can't make the playoffs.

It reminds me of how the Chiefs had zero chance against the Patriots opening day and then blew their doors off on national television.

Suck it, doubters.

On defense the only player that we "lost" was Peters. Hali was done and it was time to move on from DJ. Those we've added should play better than both of them did last year. Losing Peters clearly hurts but that will be offset to some degree by getting Berry back.

The defense won't be a whole lot better but it won't be any worse either...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

The defense is younger and faster for sure. Plus we eliminated a key player that avoided contact at all cost.

I think it will be much improved.
