don't worry.....when they end up working at McDonalds or some other job that's not meant to sustain a career; are in a low income bracket, and their lives generally suck...it'll be someone else's fault for oppressing them.

Honestly, I think they know that 95%+ of them "won't go pro" (as that one NCAA commercial suggested a couple years back), so I think this, for that group who realize they probably won't go pro and know they're not really smart, is to try and create a nest-egg of sorts while they're in college. I think a huge percentage of them know they'll probably fail at being anything more than a gym coach because they're there to play a game, and few of them take the academic side seriously.

EDIT: Plus, the colleges are making huge bank on their backs, a hell of a lot more than room and board and a few classes (that they probably don't attend anyway), so they want a cut of those huge contracts the schools are getting.
