Where do the Chiefs stand in the Division?

This hurts.

We're clearly behind LA now and probably even with Denver and Vegas.

Hopefully we make the playoffs next year. This blows.

Yep. But I get why KC is not there. I also get why some put them last in the West.. I'd put them 3rd as of right now. But still a ways to go this off season.

AFC West is capable of being won by any of the teams... I will pencil in KC right now because they are the defending west champs...

Barring injury any team can win it but I do believe all teams will be much better against teams outside the west. Winning the west is great but the Raiders actually beat every team in the west and still didn't make the playoffs when Hue Daddy was coach. Who has the hardest schedule next year?

We have like 40% of a roster right now. I think you could argue where the other 3 teams might land with KC getting an "Incomplete" grade until they have enough bodies to field a team.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

You think drafting a bunch of rookies to fill out that 60% is going to push them over the top? And the other teams are going to pick players too...

I think it's going to help them fill a roster.

The quality of which we can argue afterwards...

That's pretty concisely where I'm at.

Difference being, Chief's injury situation is an on/off switch. Healthy Mahomes and we can line up something to compete [virtually] no matter what. Dinged or sidelined Mahomes, and there's not much to make us competitive for an entire season on the merit of non-Mahomes talent and effort.

Everyone in the AFCW, Chiefs included, have a new vision of how to compete that, if everything goes their way, is favorable to their prospects.

We still have the cheat code at QB, but we as Chiefs fans have to adjust our expectations from confidence to hope. Because we are hoping our advantages endure, but those advantages will in many ways be new and different from previous advantages and only direct observation will transform hope to evidence. . .

Chiefs have the edge because of the tenure of the coaching staff I think... barring injury

Andy Reid is still the best coach in the division. Patrick Mahomes is still the best QB in the division. That alone means we won’t finish last.

The Broncos and Raiders added players but still have massive holes on their team. The Raiders OL is really questionable especially on the right side. Leatherwood isn’t a RT. And their secondary was terrible last year. They didn’t do much to fix it.

The Broncos lost Fangio and still have a weak right side of their OL. Their TE is weaker, their pass rush is nothing special, their LB’s got destroyed by Kelce and their secondary aside from Simmons and Surtain is very vulnerable.

Did I mention the Raiders/Broncos both have no picks in the 1st rd?

Chargers are the biggest threat bc they have the 2nd best QB and right now the most talented roster, but will they Charger it up again?

Chiefs have holes but will likely be getting Bradberry and bring Ingram back while having tons of early draft picks to supplement creating a rotation. Need see what we do first

Much of this list won't age well. Bengals first place schedule and a division where everyone plays everyone tough means they are least likely to merit this place by the end of the year. Bills are going to get ball-licked until they finally make the Super Bowl. I'm fine with them being at the top. 49ers are an odd choice in that spot...Trey Lance is far less of a known commodity than Jimmy G. - who isn't great, but knows how to manage a game. Power rankings...blegh.

"First place schedule" = Chiefs, Titans, Cowboys... big woop.

There's a lot of garbage there.
