Roster Updates (Watts and LDT to IR, Zombo signed)

The Chiefs announced a couple of significant roster moves Tuesday afternoon, placing starting guard Laurent Duvernay-Tardif as well as reserve safety Armani Watts on injured reserve while signing veteran free agent outside linebacker Frank Zombo to the 53-man roster. The team also announced the movement of undrafted rookie linebacker Rob McCray to a designation of Practice Squad/Injured.

The move of Duvernay-Tardif to injured reserve doesn't come as a big surprise after he suffered a fractured fibula in Sunday's 30-14 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, but placing Watts on injured reserve was unexpected and another unneeded blow to a safety position already decimated by injury. Watts, who was a fourth-round pick of the Chiefs in the 2018 NFL Draft, left Sunday's win over the Jaguars with a groin injury. Both players will be eligible to return off of injured reserve in eight weeks, although the Chiefs are only allowed by league rules to bring two players per season off injured reserve, and one of them could be safety Daniel Sorensen, who has been out since the preseason following knee surgery.

If Berry isn't back by Week 11....then ****ing IR him for the rest of the season and then make him a June 1st cut in the offseason.

Not sure who you think is going to be ready to come back. This season could quickly unravel if Mahomes can't win a shootout every week because the roster is packed with overpaid brokedicks who contribute nothing.

What is the benefit of playing him right now with this injury? Every week you guys get upset about this and every week you don’t see the objective.

They are not going to risk this guy getting injured right now when we are 5-0 and about to be through the hard part of our schedule.

This is a different team. Last year we needed EB to lead us. Guess what? It isn’t a need right now bc Mahomes has filled that role.

This is a marathon and you guys are treating it like a 200 meter sprint. We don’t need EB right now. We’ll need him in January when shit matters.

Because he's not going to step right in and play. Same as Leveon or anyone who's not played in that long.

It's a 16 game season. It pretty much is a sprint.

There won't be a January if we lose to the Pats and the Bengals back to back. HFA is much more important than you're making it out to be.

Every game matters. That's what makes the NFL so awesome. It's not baseball where some June night game doesn't really matter.

You've gotta play to win every week.

What injury? Nothing is going to get better with his foot. We just lost 2 safeties to injury last week. You don't think now's a good time to tell Berry to suit the **** up and actually earn his contract for a change?

Great, so we have to wrap him in bubble wrap and only play him in playoff games for the rest of his career. What a useless sack of shit.

Maybe

They have to bite the bullet, take the cap hit and cut his ass this offseason. His heart's not in it.

The fact that Reid made a specific point to mention how badly he wants to be here when talking about his recovery kinda tells me that everyone in that coach's suite has asked themselves just how badly Eric Berry wants to be here.

Because otherwise "football player wants to play football" kinda goes without saying, right?
this is so absurd

Bring him back sometime next month. Slowly get his reps up over the last 5-6 games and he’ll be ready for January.

You act like this is an injury that is continuing to get better. It isn't. He's had 2 months now to rehab a sore foot. If he's not ready now, when is he ever going to be ready?

And we're probably going to go through the same shit next year or up until the day we can finally get rid of his ass.

Veach needs to tell his agent that a restructure is needed or his client is going to be let go.

Chiefs have paid this man top money for 2 years and all we’ve got back is 3 quarters of play so far.

That needs to be at the top of Veach’s agenda this offseason.

Why restructure? You don't wanna kick more money to the future on him, especially if he can't play.

He's not gonna take an outright pay cut.
