NFL is Rigged: Week 18 edition

The CP consensus is that the NFL is rigged. Welp, as such, I think it’d be great to discuss this week’s script.

The NFL is rigged, so this should be easy. As easy as predicting a WWE In-Ring interview being rudely interrupted by a rival with a steel chair.

Call your shot, what kind of week 18 shenanigans is the NFL up to?

Las Vegas vs L.A: Which new stadium does the NFL prefer? TWO teams in L.A make the playoffs?

Will the NFL write in a tie game sending BOTH to the playoffs?

Will they sneak the Steelers in for one last hoorah for Ruthlessraper?

Or will they write in Lamar Jackson because he generates ratings?

Will they give the most prestigious player (Mahomes) the #1 seed, or do they want to see the Chiefs in the WC round for extra ratings?

Burrow is due for getting some calls/flags to go his way. Seems he's had no calls go his way this year.

You'll have to define what that actually is. The theories range all the way from a few refs trying to earn some vegas cash to full blown scripted, everyone is in on it to the point of self sabotaging their own team.

Where your theory falls in that range doesn't matter. What matters is that you post your predictions based on your theories.

If mass boycotts due to officiating started happening, I guarantee you the NFL would act. Just look at how quick the NFL acted after the Fail Mary.
I'd love to see a crew suspended for a month, as a good faith measure, for a start.

That would make for a Herbert vs Allen WC matchup as well.

Which set of games would the NFL prefer and why?

Mahomes vs Herbert & Wentz vs Allen

OR

Mahomes vs Wentz & Herbert vs Allen (which would set up Mahomes vs Herbert for the div round)
I think the NFL would love about any of the realistic scenarios for the Chiefs. Chargers/Chiefs round 3 in Arrowhead, Bengals rematch in Arrowhead in the divisional, and either another Bills/Chiefs AFCC or KC going to Nashville for a rematch with Henry healthy.

Most of all, I bet they love the Chiefs playing an extra game.

Disclaimer: Written after watching Chiefs at Bengals game.

It will be -

AFC Wildcard
Bye: No. 1. Tennessee Titans
No. 7 Los Angeles Chargers at No. 2 Kansas City Chiefs - Super Bowl in LA. Herbert will be given every opportunity to win. Sorry, I just see the NFL and $$$$ shaping this. If it happens, I am done with the NFL this year.
No. 6 Indianapolis Colts at No. 3 Cincinnati Bengals - The NFL likes them some Joe Burrow and the huge turnaround for the Bengals
No. 5 New England Patriots at No. 4 Buffalo Bills - The large population market and the NFL says Patriots.

NFC Wildcard
Bye: No. 1 Green Bay Packers
No. 7 Philadelphia Eagles at No. 2 Los Angeles Rams - The Super Bowl is in LA. You know the winner.
No. 6 San Francisco 49ers at No. 3 Tampa Bay Buccaneers - NFL wants Tom a little longer.
No. 5 Arizona Cardinals at No. 4 Dallas Cowboys - Next year when Super Bowl in Arizona it will be different, but this year NFL favors the Cowboys

NFC Playoffs
4 Dallas Cowboys at No. 1 Green Bay Packers - Unless Aaron Rodgers has really pissed off the NFL Higher ups, Green Bay Packers
No. 3 Tampa Bay Buccaneers at No. 2 Los Angeles Rams - Sorry Tom, the Super Bowl is in LA not Tampa this year.

AFC Playoffs
No. 7 Los Angeles Chargers at No. 1. Tennessee Titans - The NFL says Chargers and yes to LA.
No. 5 New England Patriots at No. 3 Cincinnati Bengals - Bengals and Joe Burrow

AFC Championship
No. 7 Los Angeles Chargers at No. 3 Cincinnati Bengals – A shootout between Burrow and Herbert but NFL says Chargers.

NFC Championship
No. 2 Los Angeles Rams at No. 1 Green Bay Packers – It will be a tough one for an LA team to win in Green Bay in winter, but calls will be made to allow it.

The Super Bowl in SoFi Stadium
Los Angeles Chargers VS Los Angeles Rams - A great help to both franchises.

Los Angeles Rams Super Bowl Champions - The NFL says yes to the Los Angeles $$$$$

Here’s my predictions for week 18

AFC
Chiefs win, Bills win, Stoolers win, Browns win, Faders win

That puts first round as

KC v NE
Bills v Colts
Bungles v Faders

It’s just not the Sharters year this year.

NFC
Philly, Cards and Rams win

That puts first round as
Rams v Saints (which should lead to an easy first round win for the league favorite Rams)
TB v Philly (again an easier game for Brady down 2 receivers)
Boys v Cards (should be a fun game)

When I run that scenario, I get Colts at KC. I think the only way NE will come to KC is if they lose to Miami.

I’m not even saying it happens every week, just certain games when they see fit. I don’t claim to know if the owners discuss it or who is involved. I don’t believe anyone comes out and says “we’re rigging this game” or anything like that.

If they want a certain result, they’ll just instruct the refs to call heavy penalties on one side. The refs are just part time employees doing what they’re told. Again, no big conspiracy. Just really human nature at play and a giant corporation doing what they see fit to maximize profit and popularity.

Raiders/Chargers is interesting....

I know Detoxing is stewing over the fact I mentioned keeping an eye on this potential week 17 match-up weeks ago....and at the time it seemed unrealistic.

Raiders were tanking...losing 5 of their last 6. They magically turned it around...

A "one and done" battle of the new stadium teams for a potential post-season birth..."funny" how things played out, isn't it. *belch*

Anyway...one thing to keep in mind. Raiders have like 25 players that arent under contract next year...and no head coach.

This will likely be the last time they are competitive for a while....will the NFL allow them to be knocked off in front of their fans in their shiny new stadium?

They have the much larger following..

Chargers are set for a while with Herbert...they will be competitive in the future. I dont think casual NFL fans are flocking to watch them because of Herbert..

Chargers are the better team...but they share a stadium. Raiders are on their own...

still can't figure out why the bengals beating the chiefs maximizes profit and popularity. sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. and sometimes shitty referees are just shitty.

Blah blah blah blah.

What's the final score? We need to know who's gonna win and if the O/U or spread is gonna hit.
