Disappointed in McCluster

Bla bla bla, he's a playmaker, he has two touchdowns already, whatever.

He has seven catches for 93 yards. 1/3 of that yardage came on one play. At least two of those are screen passes I believe.

That ****ing sucks.

This guy needs to be a threat as a WIDE RECEIVER. He hasnt made a single play down the field. I'm not even talking 20 yards. How about 10? How about coming off the line, putting your foot in the ground, getting open and giving Cassel a target?

I'm not willing to accept the idea that Cassel is so god awful he makes all our wide receivers look terrible.

McCluster hasn't done shit yet. And he was utter garbage in Indy.

Don't buy any of his ****ing t-shirts.

he's a worthless piece of shit, and a waste of not only a second round pick, but a waste of any pick.

How the Hell is this thread still showing life?!

No way in hell am I wasting time doing any back reading.

What I do know is there are more posts now in this thread than McLacluster had yards last season.

Give it a rest people.
We all watched the games, no way in hell were his two good plays worth his ten bad plays each week.
So he had a couple of good games at the end of the season.
Given enough plays you or I could get off a 10 yrd run... I kid..still..

Mccluster had 160 combined catches and rushes and totaled almost 850 yards.

Go take a peek at Sproles first couple years in the league and try to be objective.

And I keep telling you:

The only reason he had those touches is because Charles was hurt.

Next year he will be lucky to get 50 total touches, because he's not a RB2, and he's certainly not a WR.

He racked up a lot of garbage yards because we had a terrible backfield and no one else to give the ball to that was worth a shit.

Its a moot argument, Dexter will never be Sproles, he's not built anything like him, he will never break a tackle as well, he's not built to play like a small bull.

But used the right way he can certainly be productive somewhere in the NFL, he showed me atleast that much, its possible he's the rare RB that cant put it all together immediately but is willing to work hard enough on it to be a real pro by year five... its impossible to say he hasnt slowly flashed more & more.

Wont cry if another sound move is made, but he could end up being a good player for someone imo.

Good I get to disagree with the great Milkman. With a better QB & OC McCluster can make a heck of a lot more plays & become a bigger threat.

**** the haters. McCluster has game & heart, more can be said about him on that than most have played this past season excluding defense. He can be a heck of a player even with a healthy JC as a second teir player can flustrate defense we face as they are tired of chasing after JC to start with. Am really looking forward to the duo of JC & McCluster attack. Just watch & be wrong.

McCluster needs to operate in space. THE play for him is the screen.

Unfortunately, we've got the one QB in the league that makes the screen a high risk play.

A couple of games last year Dex seemed like he was the only guy on offense even trying.

Will he ever be "worth" his draft slot? Probably not. Can he be a productive member of an offense if he is used correctly? Yes.

Problem is he looks horrible with Cassel in there. Cassel leaves him out to dry and tries to hit him whether he's open or no. How many times we see McCluster get trashed immediately after catching a Cassel pass. Its on Cassel, not McCluster.

This is an urban myth that needs to be squashed immediately.

McCluster had a shit game against the Packers.

McCluster had a shit game against the Raiders other than one screen pass on the last drive of the game.

He ran through some gaping holes and caught one pass against Denver where there was NO ONE within 15 yards of him.

Saying "McCluster did well" with Orton is a falsehood.

It's like saying "McCluster did well" against the Bears because he caught a hail mary and ran through another one of those gaping holes.

Yup.

Screens.

Draws.

Reverses.

Swing passes.

Those are gonna be his bread and butter once a change is made at quarterback.

Those are also plays that are designed to help the intermediate and deep passing game be more effective and those are things Cassel is almost completely ineffective at.

I don't think it's a stretch to think McCluster can be a 1000 yard player with a legit quarterback.
