Looking around the league...

As bad as these past two weeks have been, if you look around the league, no team really looks that great this season other than maybe the Patriots and 49ers and the Patriots haven't really played anybody. Basically every team seems to have big flaws and we don't suck nearly as much as we feel we do. Get to the bye week with a winning record, get Pat healthy and we should be fine going into the playoffs.

This season is humbling though. It's made me appreciate just how hard it is to win in the NFL. There's a reason all time QBs like Brees and Rodgers just have one Superbowl.

But yeah after gaining some perspective, it's not the end of the world.

Of course.

Still 4-2, we have Mahomes.

Just survive this and hopefully get hot at the right time. The real season starts in January.

I agree with this. We’re fortunate that this is the case. It’s still possible to turn things around.

It starts on Thursday though. Absolute must win.

I think the Packers look pretty good. They actually look like a balanced team.

The bigger issue with these two losses is whom they came against.

Two wins in these games, and we pretty much guarantee at least the 2 seed.

Now, we will be lucky to get the 2 due to tiebreakers. It looks like the Pats will be the 1 and whoever wins the South (Texans or Colts) will take the 2.

We’re probably headed for the 3, which ****ing sucks. I’m sure we’ll win in Wildcard Weekend, but then we go on the road twice to get to the Super Bowl. That’s a tall task.

Yup. I usually try to stay away from here after losses. We are collectively about as reactionary as a jilted teenage girl.

2 bad losses. The league trying to blowjob the Raiders into relevance. Stick around, same as it is every year.

VARSITY
Injuries aside, Really only concerned about the LB play. It’s atrocious.

Secondary is important, yes, but it’s not the nightmare we thought it would be.

But our LBs can’t tackle, can’t cover, and can’t read/stop the run.

It's HOW we lost that bothers me :

Last week was a carbon copy of the playoff game against the Steelers @Arrowhead.

This was the same soup, reheated. Tyreek was the tonic for the offense - we scored points early.

The rushing defense is toxic. It's straight AIDS.

Of course there's always room for optimism, no one knows the future.
There are plenty of pieces in places that have shown promise and sports is perpetually a work in progress.

But the troubling bits are not improving, many of them are regressing, and the promising bits are getting worn down in the process.

No one is on their honeymoon anymore. It's the time we established to put up or shut up. Be a champion, or admit you are just entertainment.
