Next 5 weeks in the AFCW

How long till the Chiefs can take the lead in the Division?

Donks (3-3) next 5 games:Browns, WFT, Cowboys, Eagles, Chargers. Easily could lose them all, maybe pick off the Iggles or the WFT. Their season will be over in 5 games. I predict 3-8 by then.

Faid next 5 games (4-2): Eagles, Giants, Chiefs, Bengals, Cowboys - They could take out the Iggles and Giants. I don't think they are beating the Chiefs (though it will be a tough game cuz it always is), but I think the Bengals and Cowboys pound them. Still hanging around at 6-5.

Bolts next 5 games(4-2): Patriots, Eagles, Vikings, Steelers, Broncos - yeah they got pounded today but they are a better team than most anyone on their upcoming 5 games...Maybe the Steelers beat them...but I think they go undefeated - division leaders at 9-2

Chiefs next 5 games (3-3): Titans, Giants, Packers, Raiders, Cowboys - 3 wins for sure, but the Packers and the Cowboys...I dunno. I feel like we split those and go 4-1 in that span. 7-4.

Chiefs need to do some work to take the lead by December, and we need the Chargers to lose. Thoughts?

Lets se if my 12-5 final season record prediction comes true...BTW, nailed the 14-2 last season, and the 12-4 before that. I was dead wrong with the 3-game prediction, but hardly wrong every season. You win some and lose some...

Preseason optimism doesn't prove or disprove chicken little-itis.... you would have to be brain dead to not start each of the past few season with optimism.

A lot of people on this board seem incapable of enjoying a good football team.

I admittedly broke for a few weeks... Titans/Giants/Packers were rough, even if that was a 2-1 stretch (of course, the Bills could be included, but I could only laugh by the end of that game with how bad it was).

It says a lot though that GDTs are actually far "better" during games like the Bills, when everyone can universally vent.... because they can be up 13 to Teddy ****ing Bridgewater in the 4th quarter and miserable ****s will still just assume the Broncos are going to score two touchdowns in minutes after not scoring any for most of the game..... or can you imagine being miserable as **** for more than half a game where the Chiefs were never trailing and end up winning 41-14? I'm sure you can find plenty of great stuff in that thread.

This season hasn't been all sunshine and roses by any means, and I'm not going to have unbridled enthusiasm for the playoffs like I did last season.... but, if I hated watching the Chiefs that much (like ~2005-2016), I'd go find a hobby.

Donks 3-8

OK, so let's talk out the rest of the season. As of now:

Chiefs 8-4
Chargers 7-5
Raiders - 6-6
Donkeys - 6-6

Rest of the way:
Chiefs - Raiders, Chargers, Steelers, Bengals, Broncos
Chargers - Giants, Chiefs, Texans, Broncos, Raiders
Raiders - Chief, Browns, Broncos, Colts, Chargers
Donkeys - Lions, Bengals, Raiders, Chargers, Chiefs

I say the finished record will be:
Chiefs - 12-5 Chiefs will drop one along the way (I hope I'm wrong)
Chargers - 11-6 Chargers WILL lose to the Chiefs
Raiders - 9-8 - don't care, they ain't winning shit
Broncos - 8-9 - yet another losing season for the hapless Donks

Since I've already proven to know what I'm talking about...heh...what say ye?

Oh come on now.

We looked pretty damned bad at the time, and there was no reason to believe this defense was in the process of a complete identity change.

Indeed. But now that the offense looks pretty lame, what say you for the rest of the way?
