I loved that show, but I think I've already weighed in on most of the best things I've ever eaten.
Cluckin' Hot Chicken at Southern Strouds at the original Troost location Beef Larb at Thai Gai Yang on The Loop Racanelli's slice with Italian Beef There was a time when I had one of the best BBQ meals in, of all places, the middle nowhere down near the Current River. Called something like The Machine Shed, or The BBQ Garage. The meal was legit good, but I think a big part of it was being famished after a weekend canoeing and living in a tent. Went with a couple other friends, and we divided our time pretty evenly between having our faces buried in our plate, and looking up at the group with mutual looks of astonishment. They also had some of the best sides, great onion rings, perfect potato salad, awesome beans. Slaw was average, but average slaw is still good eats with good BBQ [I mean, I love slaw, but how do you differentiate good slaw from awesome slaw?]. Also, there was one time I lucked into the best appetizer Ribs at Texas Roadhouse

I have no one favorite dish or best I ever ate. In the past I may have but then I OD on them and get sick of them. Hence no favorite.
What I like changes regularly as well and depends on "What I feel like eating" at any particular moment and that is the "best I ever ate." That could be a hamburger or a tuna sandwich. |

I am like the opposite of a gourmet. I like my filet mignon medium well with A1 sauce.
I am very easy to please with a great pizza or steak or end cut of prime rib or lightly battered halibut with sauce. Great BBQ My favorite food is hamburger and fries so I would have to say the best thing I ever ate was the best hamburger I have ever had. And I'm still debating which one that was. You gourmands will have to be the judges of the best cuisine out there. I'm just a basic joe. I will put a plug in for the best chili I ever ate. JR's Texas BBQ Jailhouse Chili, which of course is all meat chili, is the best chili on the planet. I could eat it like dessert. |
