Incredible talent. One of the guys that was unappreciated in the NFL so he went to the AFL and became a star. He held a lot of the receiving records when he retired that have all been surpassed, but just one hell of a player. RIP Don.

I remember him well, caught everything thrown his way. He and Bambi were two receivers I feared against the Chiefs. Also they did it clean without stickum, Looking at you Fred Biletnikoff.

Fitting that he played for Sammy Baugh with New York too, both were tough, rugged West Texas guys.

Maynard graduated from Colorado City High in Texas. That's a half hour down the road from Sweetwater, where Baugh attended high school. Sweetwater is home of one of America's greatest showcases, the Sweetwater Rattlesnake Roundup.
